OK people errm i need help here!! Im currently on the internet with no anti-virus/firewall/anti-spyware because the one i currently have installed on my computer muks up my MSN by making it log on and off every minute = =" I currently have Zone Lab which is a freeware anti-virus/firewall/anti-spyware and was wondering if you lots know of any good freeware antivirus/firewall/anti-spyware ^^
I use the AOL active virus shield. So far, no problems with any other programs. You get ads in your email from signing up though, so use a spam account or follow links to opt out after the first ad comes. get it here: http://www.activevirusshield.com/
Antivirus AVG <---- also has spyware and rootkits AntiVir PersonalEdition Comodo Spyware Norman Malware Remover Ad-aware Windows Defender Spybot Spyware Doctor Webwasher Firewall ZoneAlarm Ghostwall Jetico Personal Firewall Those are freeware, others that are good is spysweeper or mcafee which you need to pay for but can be found at known BT sites
= =" dragonloaded why would you recommend me zonealarm when i have already stated that i am having problems with it -____- lai hai mm mi wang gun ngor ahhh?? N yea it does but its kinda useless against new stuff cos i dont update my windows at all ><
^ i got lazy and skimmed read your post and so i didnt see zonelabs that you mentioned and plus those are just my recommendations that i have tried or am currently using that i found are ok if you want the best protection you should find and use non-freeware programs
As i mentioned on my previous post the non-freeware can all be found on BT sites like for e.g. torrentspy so you dont have to pay like mcafee which i got off there so you dont have to pay and im an anti-norton they are the worst <_< , take up so much resources and bound to screw up one way or another Kasperky is another good antivirus
To add to dragon. Free AV: -Avast http://www.avast.com/ Active Spyware Protection: -Spyware Guard http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html As for paid/ torrent: -mcafee enterprise -nod32 -kaspersky
If you do save up money for a virusscanner, buy the McAfee instead of Norton. A paid virusscanner at least will provide you with the newest updates. (mine's "free" as it's included in the service of the network provider)

i use nod32 as well its nice =) plus theres cracks/hacks that let u have the 30 day trial turn into a couple hundred thousand days =P
^oh? I read somewhere that commercial antivirus programs like symmantec and mcafee are no good cause hackers aim more of their viruses at them than noncommerical ones...but nod32 is a good one
i used mcaffe before and it was rubbish = =" it kept crashing my computer when i was playing games = =" the software itself was prob a virus XP
