you know most of the TV shows and movies here are rmvb format. i have tried Roxio and other well known DVD burning software. those can make HD DVD, but none of them supports rmvb file. then i found couple of other software that support rmvb like Ultra DVD Creator. but i cant burn it in HD quality. it doesnt support widescreen. it always resize the movie to 4:3 ratio and quality is like VCR in LP mode.
use convertx to dvd, it supports 16:9 but i would just buy a rmvb media player, less hassle and doesn't waste disks. ________ Avandia Class Action Lawsuit
"...but i cant burn it in HD quality." I think what's missing here is the basic understanding of starting with garbage, you're going to end with garbage. That is, you can't get High Definition from a poor or low quality RMVB file no matter what you try to convert it with. Sure, you can convert the file into a size ratio to fit another screen format, but it will just be a DVD that was reformated of a low quality RMVB encode. IOW, it will ALWAYS have the same quality no matter what you do to it. If you want to have a HD DVD, then you need to first download a HD quality video.
I think he's referring to the aspect ratio. The new RMVBs have a 16:9 ratio but of course rmvb is nowhere near high definition. I think he's trying to keep the same ratio rather than programs automatically changing it to 4:3 ________ Ford Mtx-75 Transmission
i use Easy MPEG/AVI/DIVX/WMV/RM to DVD and i'm not sure if it's in HD quality but to me the quality turns out pretty good. it does have this function where you can select which aspect ratio you want - 4:3 or 16:9.
ralph is right. if u don't start with a high quality video, there is no way that u can improve it's quality by converting it to higher definition. all it does is just take up more space on the hard drive and the aspect will be larger but the quality of the video will be the same. actually each time u convert u can actually lose quality in the video but that depends on the setting u convert it to.
