Its gone very quiet on the HK$6,000 rebate. Does anyone have any news on this topic? Have they decided how the money will be paid? Does anyone have any links on the gov.hk website?
I thought the whole thing was still yet to be approved. The whole "I'm from china... blah blah blah ...disadvantage us... discriminate against us" thing was still up in the air.
my dad was telling me how .. they weren't actually gonna start giving the payouts until next year - and people actually were complaining about this.. and how come it'd take so long to give it out
You probably will need an account in HK then go online and apply; the money will then go straight into your account. You could collect directly in HK but if you already have a HK bank account then you don't need to go to HK thus saving you the plane ticket like me. Yes I'm a BBC and I can get it so no reason why others can't. They are paying in age groups (10 year intervals) in Oct or Nov starting with the oldest and probably go on till next year.
The final details are on the way...this is how it happens. Qualified people will get their money back in 5 sessions. The older you are, the sooner you get them. For older people (65+?), they will accept registration in August and should be able to get cash in hand in Nov 2011. For younger gen (1980+), registration will probably begin in Nov and will acquire money in hand at least in 2012. That's what I heard anyway.
