I am planning a trip to Las Vegas last week of August with my girlfriends and we've never been there. We are going for 4-5 days. We done some research, but does anyone have suggestions for us? i.e. 1) the best/affordable/nice hotel on the Las Vegas strip that has a good resort swimming pool. - So far we are leaning towards "Hooters Hotel" (not that Hooters ok) and "Luxor". 2) any fun places to go (shopping (ideally), shows and places to see) 3) others Thanks! Also, is it true that public transit is like 6 dollars for the whole day? does the public transit run 24/7?
i stayed at Treasure Island and found it to be a pretty nice establishment, but the luxor is definitely cooler. The best shopping imo would probably be found inside Caesar's Palace and the Bellagio
well depending what you feel like doing if you want to go shopping you should go to ceasar palace otherwise go to RIo they ahve like suit size rooms just get a hotel next to the strip
Is the shopping at Caesar's Palace and Bellagio expensive? we are on a tight budget. Have you been to Luxor?
lol louis vuitton, Gucci, D&G, that kinda stuff... the LV shops are hot, i was looking at a limited edition LV watch that was selling for 45 thousand last time i was there. hahahaha, if your looking for 'cheap shopping' i suggest u bypass Las Vegas and fly to Thailand or something.
I usually stay at the Mirage when I go there. I get comp. flights to Vegas from time to time. Mirage is where you will see a lot of pilots and flight attendants. The hotel's awesome and only a few mins tram ride to Treasure Island. ^^ thats me and my sis right outside of our hotel waiting for the "Volcano" to erupt... Don't forget to watch the Cirque du Soleil shows. They are expensive, but definitely worth every penny!!
I have been to all the hotels on the strip, the inside of the luxor is super cool. the entire pyramid is hollow and all the way up the sides are the hotel rooms, and at the ground level they have their own imax theater and different shops and casino setup stuff. if you're a trekkie, i would suggest going to the Las Vegas Hilton and checking out 'Star Trek: the experience' hahaha it involved a motion simulator where u are attacked by the borg, was pretty fun but i like star trek so im biased. When i was there, we walked everywhere.... it was pretty tiring, i would suggest getting a bus pass if you can. Then you can walk down the strip, and later at night, u can take a bus back to where u are staying. (although, this depends how long you are staying, if its only for a few days, it might just be cheaper to pay the bus fees as you go).
i stayed at Treasure island too. i like it. it was pretty. i went to every worthwhile hotel in that area too. the venetian's pretty cool, considering there's like water everywhere. my dad stayed there once and he said that's the best hotel he's been too. bellagio's supposed to be like the HIGH classed one. but its just expensive and more "high class" the venetian hotel room's are actually very LUXURIOUS. anyways, i gotta say i love vegas. oo also u should pay a visit to the old vegas area. u'll see where they filmed "oceans 11" -^_^
ceasar palace is a place where your able to spend a certain minimum on a room but if you want a truly luxurious place to stay i recommend belagio
you should try the NEW planet hollywood hotel and then give feedback =)....anyways take a lota pics and go to EVERY!! hotel down the strip cause they all have their own attractions..and its VEGASS...so u prob want some NUDITY!! lol..i know u love boooooooooobs......go to those 18+ shows for sure...and mayeb watch a magic show while u're at it.....and ya "the deuce" is the card u can buy and its 24hrs for $5 so u can go to the old vegas strip...thers so much to do there lol BTW...is b-lee going?
Where i stayed.. Treasure Island Robotic show at the Rio Caesar's Palace The Luxor Inside the Luxor The Belagio Buffet... you NEED to eat here.. its definitely the best buffet in Las vegas.. omfg, ul be near exploding after ur done, but its so worth it... a tad more expensive then other buffets though, expect to pay 20-25 dollars per person. (go early too, if your going near supper/lunch time. We waited almost 35 minutes in line before we were able to get a table)
THE SPICE BUFFET IS BETTER!!! its at the alladin hotel...well its called planet hollywood now =p i gota hook u up with the girls man....u know..those underground strip clubs..getting lap dances...girls getting naked...shhh don't tell paradiso
Thanks Fearless that really good info. I was thinking of buffet but didn't know which one. I didn't know dinner starts so early, 4pm wow.
Waah, you lucky girl! If the buffetdinner starts at 4pm, I would say get there at 3pm! (hope there's no time limit) Oh oh, will you show us some pics (of the food) when you get back?
they better be good, high resolution, clear pics taken with macro setting on... i cant stand garbagy cell phone pictures of food.
yes i was at Luxor, we booked a room already but when we go there, they said it was full, so we were upgrade for 2 nights 3 days at the suite...it was great, but quite boring for me as i don't gamble (don't like) and that the shows there are quite expensive)
going to las vegas and not gambling is pretty gay lol, i didnt gamble while i was there, but that was just because i was only 17. Next time I go, im gonna set aside a few hundred dollars just to gamble and if i lose it, so be it... just gotta have fun with it. Even without gambling though, there is still alot to do on the strip, even just walking around and taking in the atmosphere gets me excited.
