are there any program that can store files with Chinese letters in the file name? I am using Nero 7 under English WinXP, but it doesnt store the name. I can use WINRAR and archive the files then burn them in Nero, but it's such a bother.
i use nero6 and its fine i remember with nero 7 i had to get some patch and play around with windows settings but it works too, nero6 is just less hassle nero6 takes up less space and i think is better just add the chinese languages to the windowsxp, and make sure unicode settings are set to chinese and it should be fine and ensure all ur chinese characeters are in unicode, and not any of the other encoding like big5 etc, as some of them will not show up
I have the same problems with Nero 7.0. But I noticed when you use the Nero BackItUp application of the Nero 7 suite. You will preserve all the Chinees charaters.
Nero, like many other burning programs are non-unicode problems, therefore not able to view unicode char. What you need to do is go to control panel - regional and language options - on one of the alst tabs you have to selec chinese (HKSAR) in the drop down menu. Windows would prompt you to restart, do so and now nero will be able to view and burn in chinese. Big disadvantage is that English will not always show properly.
keeping in mind, once u change the regional settings and the default language for unicode, sometimes wen ud o installation/updates with programs they all change in to chinese >.< (which i can't read... but can figure out which is next and yes lolz) as said earlier, u could alwyas just go back to nero6, does most of wat u need taking up much less space =)
You need a burner program that supports unicode. VSO CopyToDvd will do it. You can download a trial. http://www.vso-software.fr/products/copytodvd/copytodvd.php
wait a minute... does anyone have the chinese 6.6.014?? I was wondering if you install the chinese version then you won't have to set the regional option??
I think that windows xp support unicode by default. Make sure you install the east asian language from your regional and language (control panel). Then you can use pretty much any burner software. Roxio, Nero, Alchohol 120% all works well for me.
yea but which chinese should I set... Hong Kong SAR? or Singapore... for HK, i've tried it before.. but can't recognize all the characters...
http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=146510 - VSO CopyToDvd works for Chinese/Japanese - Power2Go supports unicode - use Windows XP built-in CD/DVD burner http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=149416&highlight=unicode - droppix supports unicode - use AppLocale to change the settings for just a single program (instead of for your whole OS)
