Anyone here into designer stuff? I only like the designer hand bags. Most designer clothes look really ugly, and old to me. I know a girl at my high school who ONLY wears designer clothes. Then again, her parents are loaded. <_< I'm still having a hard time figuring out why she decided to go to my high school seeing as it is relatively poor lol...
Totally in it for the shoes, handbags, and wallets. Designer shoes (manolos, jimmy choos, etc.) are sooo much more comfortable than knock offs. There's no sense in spending money on cheap shoes that hurt your feet and make you feel miserable. As for clothes, I usually go for stuff that is not poorly crafted. Even if the shirt is $10, I wouldn't want to get it because if I feel uncomfortable in it or if it's gonna fall apart after one wash, why waste that money? Usually, you have to spend more money on better quality stuff. So, I don't necessarily go for brand name stuff, but sometimes, it's inevitable. You don't want to show up @ work wearing cheap stuff. Jeans, I definetly going for the designer ones because they fit very well.
This is more of a question then answering to this topic, but what is so special about LV that makes it so expensive? Along with Prada and all the others brand names. The name itself is well known, the quality is great, but is it really THAT good to make it so expensive?
I like Gucci .. But never LV... I don't understand why is it sooo expensive.. It's not like their designs are super nice???!!!
well........certains things yes, like cologne or sunglasses or wallets or hats...and shoes sometimes.....but only rarely
I've got some shoes from Prada and LV, and I've also got some handbags from LV, Gucci and Dior. I'll tell you, the shoes are the most comfortable I've ever stepped into. They were definetly worth the money. The leather is so soft, so I don't get blisters on my feet, and they are durable. As for the handbags, same thing. The leather that they use is so soft, that it doesn't become wrinkly after a while. I treat them like crap, and they still look the same as when I first got them. The craftsmenship on their stuff is really good. One of the reasons why the designer stuff is so expensive is that they don't mass produce on the level of other stores. So, they need to charge more for their stuff. (simple supply & demand theory)
Oh man serious... LV!! got some of the worst shoes ever...their wallets are alright but the shoes.... damn. Most of them are like designed for really -wheel people. Yo, you would think, like oh, 4 to 500 dollar for a pair of skate kicks would be hella high quality and durable... but noooooo.... the damn things was not comfortable at all after you been on the board for awhile. Plus the leather, all tore up after a week... thas why just cause it's designer doesn't mean it's right for you. Don't believe in all the hype....<_< -sleep
designer clothes are way too expensive.... esp considering that most are made in china/tw/indonesia/etc and cost less than a dollar to make.... i say go for clothes that look good on you regardless of brand. but if you are buying brand wait til sale buying online with cashbacks are good too!
Not so much anymore, but I thought it was important to get designer stuff in high school. Now that I work, I get to wear suits tailored in Cambodia.
i think that people shouldn't buy things just for the brand of it, but only if they actually like it, if it fits them and it it's actually worth the money
Yeah, that depends what designers too. I normally see the one that look nice then I will buy them. But sometimes when I saw one on the internet, I will find out more abt the designer such as his/her name and further details; then get it somewhere cheaper than the standard prices out on the street! -whistle
I can't afford designer brands...but I buy clothes that are trendy and imitate the runways so that works out for me...the clothes at shopping malls are inspired by designers anyways so why buy expensive stuff when you can get it at a fraction of a price
hm, within reason, I dont just go out and buy clothes or shoes just because of the brand. If I like the style, the workmanship of the garment, if the fabric has a good texture and feel to it, and if it's not ridiculously expensive, then sure, I'll buy it.
