I totally need to rant!!!! Some jerk face hacked my megaupload account and changed my password. I got an email notification about it and was able to reverse it but for some reason this a$$hole must have the link as well cause he keeps changing the password and the email address on the account. I spent 2 hours playing tag on my account and finally gave up. I've email megauploads support link and I opened a new account so hopefully they can cancel the old account and transfew my premium status to the new one. So pissed about this!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad:
oh man .. that's fucking scary. i just got the a new citi credit card today because they believe my account has been hacked too. i love new technologies and all but is it really making our personal information more vulnerable or secured .. sigh .. i dunno. all i know that thieves are getting smarter everyday and regulators are fucking behind.
I have spybot search and destroy, norton and ccleaner .. i ran all my mine but still, it happened. sometimes, it's not our computer but the company's .. an inside job. who knows...
Should do a clean of your computer for adware, spyware, virus, everything, and probably change your passwords for everything important as well
hope it gets sorted out. It's scary and I'm always on the look out. It's nice to know that there are moderators on this forum, keeping an eye for things.
HEY i been in the same situation, accept it was some f@g who hacked my email!! i was able to stop him, after i confronted him. I threaten to hurt him really badly. trouble stoped
Most likely trojans are invading your computer..just running a scan for virus. At the same time change all your passwords.
I really hate it that people are out there coming up with ways to scheme people. My laptop went haywire the other day and my brother said I might have a trojan (better go change all my passwords). He had to reformat my laptop and now...it's just not the same. Not as bad as someone hacking into my accounts (not that I know of!!!!), but I thought I'd share...
You need a couple of "Defence" system. 1. Get a good antivirus scanning software. Recommended would be ESET Nod or Kapersky. Screw Norton. Its a piece of crapware. 2. For ad based trojan infection prevention the best way is to DENY them entry. Recommended software is Admuncher. They have a Filter system where it is updated quite often. You can add on your own. Another thing to be aware of, be extra careful when clicking on ads. 3. Do your surfing thru GOOGLE. Search for the site first before entry. If Google mark it as "unsafe" don't bother. For Emails. 1. Use a good password always. Do not have simple passwords like "apple123" or "orange456". You will be surprise that loads of folks still use that as their standard password. 2. Be aware that there is such a thing as a phishing sites. So before you key in your credit card numbers etc, just exercise more alertness. Use Paypal for your payment system whenever possible. Sites that requires your credit card number directly, screw it. Don't bother. Have several emails and not put all your online surfing stuff into one basket. In this case a single email for all your communications is truly courting for disaster. Example. One for the Social networking sites. One for Family and friends communications. One for your business. One for E-transaction. One for AOB. Change your password every quarterly. Store your email info into a encryted text file on a thumb drive and out it in a safe place. AND NOT USE it for any other purpose. Good luck. P.S. Better safe then be really sorry. And yes. NEVER share your computer especially with someone who have no sense of internet security. It will screw up your system for sure. And finally. When you are doing your fragging in an internet cafe, or simply checking your emails at some other places. MAKE sure you clear the "cookies" and clear the cache after you finish. Make sure your MSN, Yahoo username and passwords are not left onto the system by default. Internet cafes are known to be the worse place where passwords have been leaked...
Ever thought taking a computer class? Maybe that way, you will know what to do next time? McAfee is a good program, try that
