if your getting an eee, get 1000h, i would recommend MSI Wind or Acer Aspire One instead though.

I want the 901 or the 1000H. I also thinking about MSI Wind. I don't like acer laptop's.

well for typing, i would not recommend the 901 at all, go with the 1000h or MSI Wind then, most people might choose MSI Wind over the 1000H, but right now the 1000h has a price drop in US which is now $450 making it an affordable 10" laptop with a 6 cell battery.
features are mostly all the same.. just different company and different storage in most of the netbook system. and sizes.

Thank for your advice runtohell121. Did someone know what the price is in Hong Kong, for the Asus 1000H or the MSI Wind?

I have the old 701 4GB Surf edition. If I were to get another netbook, I'd choose one with a bigger keyboard, higher resolution and an expandable hdd. Whatever you get, make sure you try out the keyboard first...

the biggest keyboard for a 9 inch laptop is the Acer Aspire One, the biggest keyboard for 10" is either wind or 1000h, i'm not sure, but the percent on the acer aspire one keyboard size, most review says the keyboard is big enough and the percentage, which i have no clue if it is correct, is around 86%-92% sized keyboard.

I'm on my EEE PC 8GB 701in Pearl White. I only bought it cause it was small and light weight and lasts pretty good on a charge with internet. Except because of the resolution you have to do some side to side scrolling which does get alittle annoying sometimes, but not that big of a deal.

Its actually not that slow if you keep with Linux, when you upgrade to Windows it would slow it down just alittle. I still have to upgrade it to windows. Haven't had time.

  10. ^ its not consider an upgrade when you install windows ;) its a downgrade..... lol

of course it isn't slow :p celeron processor is rated faster than my intel atom but do use more power :p and your files open faster is because of the SSD compared to a HD, HD are slower :xd:
not worth upgrading to window if your paying like $100 for the OS -what?

I'm considering both the EEE 1000H and the MSI wind, but the MSI wind is a few hundred more here in Canada. Anyone able to tell me what makes it worth it? I'm leaning towards the Asus at the moment, solely because the price/performance seems closer together.

performance both are equal.. price, no clue why is msi wind a few hundred more.. how much is it in Canada..?
in the US, Asus 1000H is $400-$450(price dropped, before it was $550-$600), MSI Wind $500-$550. MSI Wind price is still so high probably because this machine is high on demand.. MSI is the most popular netbook as far as i know right now.
I don't really care much about other netbooks anymore though since i already have an Acer Aspire One which i got for $250. :laugh2:

I got myself an aspire one.
Here in melb, the aspire one comes with 160 gb HDD compared to the EEEpc's 120
Everything else is the same, if not similar. (the aspire 1 is better price wise too XD)
Its so light I forget about it all the time. great for me at uni + on the bus (going to uni and home again)

most of the asus eee has a small keyboard, but i'm not sure if the asus eee 1000h has the same size small keyboard as others, that is one reason why most people choose other brands instead of asus eee. anyways good luck finding your netbook :)
