At a Lunar New Year celebration event yesterday, artists Gilbert Lam Wai Sun, Pinky Cheung, Lulu Ng, Lee Heung Kam, Leung Suk Yin, Lui Ching Ching, Ho Pui Yee, etc. were present.

Several days ago, media reports surfaced that due to ATV's recent re-organization, the company will be left with no signed artists. ATV executives clarified that despite ATV's change in corporate strategy, this was not true and reassured its artists.

ATV executive manager, Yue Tung Ho, said that under ATV's new subsidiary company, artists will continue to be offered contracts. Under the new arrangement, artists also have the flexibity to work with outside organizations, such as mainland companies, I-Cable or even TVB!

The new contract does not require them to film exclusively for ATV and allows artists increased flexibility. Mr. Yue indicated that many artists in Hong Kong are controlled by large media companies, which impact the competitiveness of certain production companies.

Mr. Yue noted that media companies in China have modernized [by allowing artists to work with multiple stations] and this will be the future trend in Hong Kong as well.

ATV's new subsidiary company will be organizing music concerts going forward. Their first big show will be held from April 20-21, featuring Kwan Ching Kit and Choi Fung Wah, singing classic RTV theme songs.

Actress Ho Pui Yee will be getting married on March 24th and received congratulations from colleagues and management. Gilbert Lam and girlfriend, Lui Ching Ching, kissed in front of the cameras. Since Gilbert met Ching Ching through ATV, he said, "Without ATV, our relationship would not have been possible. I will continue to support ATV in the future!"

Pinky Cheung will likely sign a contract with ATV's new subsidiary company, as it allows her the chance to work closely with mainland companies, increasing her exposure rate. Chan Ching Pang, Ricky Chan Bo Yuen, and Lau Nam Kong have signed under the new subsidiary company as well.

ATV has some really good actors and actresses. And they don't look that bad.
