is anyone else totally disappointed by the album -- esp. "Girlfriend"? Does anyone else think that Lavigne totally sold out?? I find it really, really hard to believe that she actually wrote "Girlfriend" when she was the one who wrote/sang "Complicated" and "My Happy Ending". The lyrics are so effing ridiculous! so much for her punkrock/emo image. -_- I thought she had attitude and personality but now shes pretty much as generic as any other pop princess. Arguably the "best"(and I use the term loosely) track on the album is "Keep Holding On" and we all know that it's pretty much pop music fodder with its catchy tune/lyrics.
lol i dunno she looks better with the strawberry blonde.. dont follow her music... but doing 10 diff versions of the same song is pretty genius...
i agree that the album is quite disappointing... but she explained that she wanted to have a lot more fun with this album than with the others... and you can kind of tell that she is. i DO miss the better songs like My Happy Ending, but it's quite understandable that she wants to change it up a bit.
hmm haven't gotten around to it. i really hate "girlfriend" though. although i have to say smart thinking on her part to pull in a larger audience by singing it with the different languages. its quite a feat. still... hate the song. and oh well she shouldn't be "emo" anymore, she's happily married and whatever. not keeping up with her and she used to be my favorite too -__--
I guess I am disappointed to the fact that she pushed this album out at all. The songs are really average, both melody wise and lyrics wise, nothing stands out =_=b But I do agree <Innocence> is one of the better ones. <My Girlfriend> is just ANNOYING. And the MV was totally not my type of cracked =_=b
little disappointed too about the song "girlfriend" : ( , the other song its ok , like "Innocence" and "Keep Holding On"etc^^ . My favorite song is "My happy ending" i think ^^
But then I didn't like the album because I am an old lady (which is totally NOT part of the niche market she is marketed for)
