Barbie Hsu picks up singing again after eight years Once part of Taiwanese girl band ASOS, Barbie Hsu stopped singing eight years ago. In new drama serial "Summer's Bubble", produced by actor Peter Ho, she takes on the role of a singer and the greatest challenge for Hsu in the drama, is to pick up the microphone and sing again. "I cannot guarantee I'll perform well, but I'll do my best!" Hsu said humbly. Though she has been a singer for a few years, Hsu was never confident in her vocals. The album "Abnormal Girl" released in 2001 marked the end of the band's singing career. As compared to her counterpart of the band, Dee Hsu, also her younger sister who will brag a few verses on variety shows, Barbie chose to concentrate on acting and hosting. The most recent time she sang was on her best friend Christie Fan's concert. Hsu has also just completed filming for movie "Future Cops", where she was casted opposite Andy Lau, and will be starting on a comedy soon.
Yep, 2009 will be marked as the year of the comebacks. First we have heavenly king Jacky Cheung who is making a comeback And now we have Barbie Hsu.
I am sure she will be a fine singer. Her ticket to stardom, Meteor Garden in 2002, probably made her think she was better off acting.
