Taking advantage of what will eventually become the largest consumer market in the world, the makers of Barbie have opened up a flagship store to introduce "Barbi-ness" if you will, to China and the Chinese: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/8019015.stm I not so sure about where I should sit with this. While China is going to be a large consumer market, and having Chinese disposable income in the market stream is good, I doubt teaching Chinese girls the superficial value of blondeness (for want of a better description) is going to be a good thing. I mean, just look at what they've done to girls elsewhere with Barbie's unrealistic expectations of beauty.
