Officially releasing her debut single online in the United States Tuesday, Korean pop princess Boa, 21, is slowly pushing her way to the top.

Her debut single "Eat You Up" came in third in the Top Songs category on music Web site iTunes. The song also ranked number 10 on Amazon's Hot New Release in MP3 Downloads and 21st on the Today Top MP3 Songs charts.

SM Entertainment, the singer's agency, announced that U.S. Internet users posted comments on various Web sites regarding the singer's debut, some saying that they thought the songs were fantastic, while others mentioning that the lyrics, beat and Boa's voice were all perfect.

"Eat You Up" was released here Wednesday through popular music Web sites like Melon and cyworld and in Japan through mu-mo.net. The song will also be released in some 30 countries through more than 300 Web sites soon.

U.S. magazine Variety's Asian Web site also carried an article regarding the Korean singer's plans to enter the U.S. market, saying that it "might prove that the `Korean Wave' is not finished".

Boa will attempt to break into the U.S. live performance market next month through an American and world concert tour, according to SM Entertainment.

Her first all English album will be released in the United States early next year.
Boa is familiar with breaking into overseas music markets. After debuting in Korea, she soon left to break into the Japanese music market, winning broad popularity. He sixth album, titled "The Face" topped the Japanese Oricon chart's album of the week in March. With that feat, she marked the sixth time that her album was voted No. 1 on the weekly album chart.

BoA's "Eat You Up" promotions kick off!

"BoA and even former employees were not able to hide their surprise," a SM representative said after they were notified of how BoA managed to make her way up onto Amazon and iTunes charts. "It's a good start because we didn't publicly release the song nor do promotions. It will accelerate her growth from being Asia's Diva to a Worldwide Diva."

Next week BoA will go around TV stations in the U.S. to start full-scale promotional activities. She will go on local radio stations, tv programs and visit music stores to promote and increase awareness .

SM revealed that they will be taking highlights from the Eat You up mv by director Cha Eun Taek and showing them on large screens in New York and Los Angeles. The promotional video will be shown every 2 minutes at New York's Broadway and will continously be shown at LA's Wilshire Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The large screen promotions will continue for the next 3 months revealing other various clips in sequential order.

BoA's US MV of "Eat You Up" scrapped, korean version used instead

BoA's US Version of her music video "Eat You Up" was released yesterday by SM Entertainment. This version, which was directed by so called famous director, Diane Martel, received very negative reviews on Youtube and many other video sharing sites. Thus, it seems SM Entertainment decided not to use this after a days worth of bad comments. Today, BoAAmerica.com changed the Korean version of the music video as the (A) version. The only full music video posted on this site is the Korean version while the American version remains only as a teaser. Also, the 1 minute introduction which was previously on the American version of the mv to introduce BoA to the US Market was pasted in front of the Korean version. Hence, this helps us conclude that SM Entertainment scrapped the American version of the MV once and for all to ensure BoA's success in the US. Great news for BoA because she still has a fighting chance with Cha Eun Taek directed Korean music video!

For those who have not purchased BoA's song Eat You Up yet, please do so at online stores across the world! Amazon provides DRM free mp3 files of the song, and iTunes is another great choice! Go get your copy now!

the song is interesting, I prefer her older styles. This new "punk" thing she is doing is not to my liking, though she is still super hot.
