Bobby Au Yeung's costume drama may be banned in Mainland, along with all other ancient series Costume dramas "The Dream of Red Chamber" (紅樓夢), "Journey To The West" (吳承恩與西遊記), and many more are currently filming, but it has been reported on the news recently that starting from June 1st, Mainland will be banning all costume/ancient drama series. Currently Beijing, Tianjin, Hunan and Jiangsu Satellite TV and the responsible person expressed that they have not received any confirmation on this. Bobby Au Yeung is currently filming for new series (鍾馗) in Mainland, reporters phoned his manager, she expressed that she only knows that in the previous years the China Government issued documents stating that they do not encourage production companies to film costume/Ancient dramas, but for banning its broadcast, she haven't heard of it. TVB's Director of Foreign Affairs expressed that TVB has a lot of ancient /costume dramas that broadcasts on Mainland television, will have to receive the documents from the Government first before making any decisions. that's sad... i think ancient dramas teach us a lot of Chinese history... but then again TVB always changes most of the true Chinese story n make up their own thing... for example... in War and Beauty... all the female leading roles were actually based on realy historical people... but of course tvb made up their story n how they died
nooo i love costume ancient dramas cuz some of their customes for girls are so pretty lol booie does that mean their will be a reduction of costume from now on? that would suk just modern drama only :(
If this comes out to be true in the end, I would cry because I like Ancient more than Modern sometimes.
that's coz mainland drama series follows either real history or historical rumours... i guess they dun want young ppl to be mislead by tvb's self made up stories...
