The “Seven Year Itch” appeared to curse couples across the world. Due to filming War of In-Laws <我的野蠻奶奶>, Bosco Wong (黃宗澤) and Myolie Wu (胡杏兒) have been dating for seven years. This “older woman, younger man” relationship was severely criticized by the public initially, even postulating that the couple would split quickly. In fact, their relationship continued to grow steady throughout the years. Lucky in love and his career, Bosco admitted that he did not possess wedding plans yet. Entering the “stable” stage, Bosco did not possess the itch [to cheat] in the relationship. Over the next five days, Bosco Wong will share the stories of his love life, family, and friendships with the Oriental Daily newspaper.

Bosco noted, “I always wished to handle relationship issues in a low-key manner. Maintaining the current status is pretty good. Since it involves two people, I do not wish to state things too explicitly.

“I never worried about the ‘Seven Year Itch.’ I have never possessed this way of thinking. To be honest, if a person were to feel itchy [and wished to cheat], it can happen anytime, without the need to wait for seven years. When faced with rumors, my head will itch instead! Ha ha! There is no avoidance in the spreading of rumors. I will normally laugh off the rumors after reading about them. I am used to the circulation of rumors with the release of a new series, such as Lives of Omission <潛行狙擊>, upon which I was linked to my costar, Kate Tsui (徐子珊). Fortunately, our personalities are open-minded and we will not place too much importance upon these rumors. As long as you do not regard the rumors with importance, then they will not be able to bother you. I am only concerned about my work.”

Marriage Prompted By a Moment’s Notice

Bosco-Wong5.jpg “Some people say that when a relationship approaches a certain stage, it is necessary to get married in order to sustain it. If two people are happy together, there is no need to deliberately maintain it. For example, Tony Leung (梁朝偉) and Carina Lau (劉嘉玲) dated for many years before they got married recently. Timing is very important in marriage; perhaps the urge to get married may be prompted by a moment’s notice. Currently, we are able to give space to each other. I do not know how to explain it, but anyhow, it feels comfortable. Perhaps you can say that right now, both of us do not have any expectations towards the other person.

“At this moment, I do not have plans to get married. When I was younger, I wished to get married at 30-years-old. However, after turning 30-years-old, I do not feel that urge. There are too many things I wish to do. Getting married and having children require good planning, since I have high standards for my dream house, in which I wish to live in a penthouse. It’s very expensive! I am also a bit of a ‘neat freak’ and wish that my home looks very beautiful!”

    Set Michael Miu As Target

“I have a blueprint for my future family life and hope it will be similar to Michael Miu (苗僑偉): married with a son and daughter, upon which I will own a business and be able to act occasionally to satisfy my interests, so that I can continue to play in life. If I were to have children, then it’s necessary to have at least several months off to take care of them. In the industry for so long, I firmly believe that the timing of encounters are very important in this field. You can not compensate for this timing of opportunities; if no one wished to cast me in a production, then it will not matter how much I put in my efforts or how much I try.

“As people say, by 30-years-old, a person should be established in life. All along, I have diversified my investments, such as buying gold, properties, and blue-chip stocks, since they are steady investments that do not need frequent management. My mother will be retiring soon, so I gave her money to open an optical store to keep her busy in her retirement years.”

    Opening Malaysia’s Largest Restaurant

”For a long time, I possessed a desire to open a restaurant in Hong Kong. Since the rental amounts in Hong Kong were astronomical, I decided to invest in a restaurant business in Malaysia with a friend instead. This business is also a gift for my mother, as I will only visit the restaurant once in awhile. The restaurant will feature a live band. I invested a seven figure sum in the restaurant, which is currently undergoing renovation. At 8,000 square feet, I believe that the restaurant will be the largest restaurant in Malaysia! The rent was cheap, ha ha; if you were to use the money in Hong Kong, you cannot even rent a 300 square feet apartment!”

    Shopping With Myolie Wu

Bosco Wong and Myolie Wu started dating after portraying an onscreen couple in War of In-Laws at the end of 2004. Allegedly, Bosco successfully pursued Myolie through the heavy use of text messages. Although the pair did not public admit that they were dating, they were recognized as a couple. Bosco and Myolie did not mind appearing at promotional events together or partnering in 2007’s War of In-Laws 2. Last year, Bosco and Myolie film mainland drama, Racecourse <跑马场> together. In February 2011, the press photographed the pair shopping together in the Causeway Bay district. Earlier, Bosco revealed that he had lost his diamond earrings, upon which Myolie admitted that she gave the earrings to Bosco as a gift.

Kate Tsui Hopes to See Bosco Wong and Myolie Wu Get Married

Due to their intimate scenes in Lives of Omission, Boso Wong and Kate Tsui shared romantic rumors earlier. However, it turned out that Kate and Bosco’s “official girlfriend,” Myolie Wu, were good friends and aside from not bearing a grudge, they joked about the rumors when they met. Regarding Bosco and Myolie 7-year relationship, Kate laughed, “I am very happy for them! Although they seem to alternate between admitting and not admitting their dating status at times, they have gotten along very well together over the past few years. I am very happy for them and really wish to see them get married!”
