What will this computer be used for? If its not for gaming I'd advise you to just get a regular 7600 NVIDIA card.
Get the best motherboard you can which is the 680i. It's worth it for about 100 more. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813141003 The important thing about a case is the air flow so choose wisely. The video card, if you don't absolutely need to upgrade yet, save up and get the best one and since dx10 games arn't going to be released for a little while I don't see a reason to get a new card right now. The processor is good. As for the fan, if you're a graphics designer or serious gamer and intend to oc your system I suggest you get better cooling, obviously, but, your system can run just fine with a good amount of air flow with minimal over clocking. For your hard drive I suggest you get two sata's and set them both to raid 0 cause that'll double the read/write speed. The ram is straight. You could get a 22" monitor for another 50-100 dollars. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001083 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009102 Power supply is straight. And yes, it'll run fine.
A 7600GT can go very far in the graphics world already even though it's considered a mid grade. Saves you the $100 that you can use to upgrade other parts.
1)the computer looks fine but do u really need 400 gbs of storage ? 2)check the compatiblility for ur cpu and motherboard cuz its for AMD socket AM2 AM2 while ur getting a pentium intel.
The ram is a little expensive because ddr2 prices has been dropping a lot lately. Check sites like www.dealnews.com they have frequent deals on dd2. If you're going windows i think you should buy Vista even though it still buggy because xp is old technology, unlesss you have to have it.
i just went and bought that exact same graphics card today lol... unfortunately it requires a 400 watt power supply and my computer only has 288 watts stock... im going to go buy a 500 watt supply tomorrow and install it
Yes it's for gaming. well i thought if it was a 775 socket it'll fit. i dont know much about computer so thats y im here... hmm what about this motherboard... Motherboard NVIDIA nForce® 680i SLIhttp://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2927686&Tab=0&NoMapp=0 $159.99 N/A Tiger Direct
SLI is a good have for gaming system...should u decide to add that extra card for the extra umph...of power Also like they suggested a bigger mon for a few more bucks would be the best bet to go... One thing i would recommend is get 2GB or ram over the 4GB that u have listed. If you are running windows...you'll get capped at 3.2GB unless you are going to be running the server edition where you can get full use of 4GB of ram. The extra ram comes in handy when you are doing some serious graphic manipulation like lightwave or rendering tons of raw photos but you won't see to much of a difference. Home rig got 4GB of ram...but i can't see any difference from when it had just 2GB of ram
buy SLI mainboard... 2x 7600GT.... btw dont use the fan, that comes with the CPU.... i have also Core 2 Duo E6600. that fan sucks... u have always 40-50°C .. when u play games then the cpu will get about 70°C (that was my cpu) i bought that Artic freezer 7 Pro for 18 €. now my cpu has 28-33°C
but i'd stay away from vista till microsoft comes out with SP1....i still find all kinds of application issues and bugs
if your gaming, step up to a 8800GTS, especially since your buying a decent cpu anyway or if you cant afford one and want to upload later when dx10 games are available get a ati x1900 series for now (dont go SLI/crossfire, its a waste)
