me and my guy can talk on the phone for hours but occasionally we may be on the phone for just a while, and he will say "if you have nothing else to say, lets hang up" question: when you are on the phone with someone (you like) and you both run out of topics to talk about, do you hang two hang up? or do you guys stretch out time and try to find things to talk about, just to stay on the phone I've just not been to use to not having such uprupt ends to phone calls. i'm use to people having excuses to have to end calls, such as got to eat dinner or something my last relationship the guy would refuse to get off the phone until he fell asleep and i would hang up. although annoying i found it really sweet so i'm just wondering, is the way my guy ends the calls (on occasions) ok, like nothing the matter it's just a personality thing? or is it that he might be annoyed with me calling so much i'm not one of those girls who are checking up on the guy, but i am one of those girls who likes to hear the persons voice, and be able to chat with them a lot
stay on... eventually one of us will think of somethin' to say.. or try to make up some bs.. hanging up is only if you're hella bored or you need to sleep...
In my opinion, your BF sounds somewhat RUDE to be ending a conversation like that, but that's just me. I'm sure he's just really straightfoward and all about the "if you got nothing else to say, let's click" -- but I still find it too direct and doesn't sound too great. It gives me a feeling of "let's do something else instead, I'm getting bored" and definitely not something I can say to a partner. When I run out of things to say, I would probably say something like "oh, don't you have that exam tomorrow? Shouldn't you be studying that instead?" or something like "Let me call you a little later, I gotta do something real quick." Oh and another thing, though it's not wrong to be spending mass amounts of time talking to the partner, don't overdo it. Whilst talking to your partner and your friend decides to call, don't ignore your friend (this includes telling him/her that you'll call him/her back, but you don't, eventually). They sometimes get irritated knowing that you spend 100% of your phone time talking to your obcessive BF/GF and the ties of friendship start to break. I've known people who get their cell phone services CUT (from the company) because they spend too much time talking to each other.
Usually my boyfriend and I when we talk on the phone we would think of things to talk about or just random questions and somehow from there, a topic flows. We usually hang up when his cell phone battery is dying lol or we're getting sleepy.
I wouldn't say so far as it is annoying, but it may get distracting -- I mean, you wanted him to listen (pay attention) yet at the same time he would need time to do whatever he is supposed to do (work, study and such). BTW, if you want to have more to talk about, read news. It's a great source of fascination, the things people do.
LOL, thanks for the tip yea i dont like it either often when he hangs up he says "bye" ~CLICK~ it's so uprupt, and leaves me feeling a little aggitated so i got mad at him about it one day, he doen'st do it anymore in fact one time i asked him, why aren't you hanging up, he said "i dont want to get you mad again" (he said it very sincerly) yea this is what i'm use to too. so um any signs that he's doing it because i'm annoying him, or doeseveryone just agree he's just not got the best mannors (which that i can take) i mean i find some things he do not very poliet like not pushing in the chair, but than again he finds things that i do not to be poliet, because i dont say "excuse me" after i burp
I don't wait till we run out of things to talk about. I end on a high note whenever I can. Yes good interactions are addicting, that's where self control kicks in. Why end? - When you're talking for so long, convos just get more and more boring. That spark just dies off that much quicker. - When you end on a high note, the other person can't help but continue thinking about you even after you hang up. - The other person will be more excited to talk to you the next time you call. - More things to talk about, less chances of having nothing to talk about. Just to name a few...
hmmm...if run out of topic<guy normally> let the gal keep talking nia lorh...dun ever ask the question "if u hav nothing else to say,let hang up" even not with ur gf it's kinda rude....the best is stay till u fall asleepzzzzzzzzzzz...cos it's the best sleeping-pills ever.... ^_^ or just till the credit run out... LoL
smallrinilady.... What do u prefer... like the "you hang up", "no you hang up", "on three hang up thing"? That can be annoying too sometimes... But if it really bothers you... maybe you can ask him his point of view... maybe he doesnt know how rude it sounds when he's saying "if you have nothing else to say, lets hang up". Guys can be..erm how do i say this without offending the males on this forum... erm... thoughtless sometimes...
as nice as it is to talk hours everyday on the fone i'm sure hteres only limited stuff u can talk abt, b4 both of u get bored of talking probably best to keep it short and sweet =)
yeah for us usually we just talk in til the morning and when we run out of things to say, we just say "oh its late think we better sleep" and pretty much thats what we do...sleep hah But yeah saying "if you have nothing else to say lets hang up" is a bit rude. Just sounds like the person doesn't want to talk to you in the first place. Oh and Smallrinilady, you're not one of those girls that need to call up their guy everyday and talk for hours are you? lol i knew some girls during high school that would call everyday and make you listen, and eventually you have to start making up things to talk about because nothing much changes in your life from day to day. Me and my chick we just talk once in a while, but when we talk we go for like 5 or 6 hours lol, talking every night just gets dried up to easily.
hmmm i guess i might be one of those girls i like to talk a lot, but so does he it's just on occasion he acts rude, and it doesn't give me that happy feeling
erm...mayb listen to skid call once in a while n not everyday...cos everyday its kinda very fast get boring...a day only got 24hrs,8 hrs sleeping as for gal normally 12hrs,then if study or work another 8hrs,left 4 hrs for gals n 8 hrs for guy to hav something to happen on a day which u hardly can use it to talk for few hours...LoL
