the company is based in Montreal, Canipre, this can be very true; i just heard from my parents who dined out with a group of people, their people's friend got fined for downloading but not know what was downloaded and where about the location is

recent news about a 9 year old girl trying to download a music disc and got fined...in the article her dad was saying the download didn't even work and the same day they purchased the genuine album...that said parents should monitor their kids...but how? parents need to work, they are not beside the child 24/7...the laptop was seized

also i am not sure how the illegal defines, there has been youtube or other online vod sites which host the content" just that they are chopped into sections but when you view them online, they are considered download because it does save a copy in the temp file/folders. There is also icefilms, a lot stream movies/tv episodes online there

Also, they dont have the rights to track us in Canada. It's an invasion of privacy, but like if its child porn they are chasing then its fine. Only in the US it's banned, so until they make it law in Canada they shouldnt be allowed to fine us or say shit.

the court gave orders to ISPs that they need to provide info to the company and then get fined, and a criminal record as well

  7. So what happens now? Has it been passed into law that ISPs need to release info to the authorities? Are they booking downloaders now?

Well regardless the makers of the movie wont get your money anyways.. so I dont think they care whether you watch their movie at all.

But this move isn't surprising.. as US has such a heavy influence on Canada.
