Carina Lau (劉嘉玲) braved the typhoon 3 signal to attend the opening of a new showroom for her watch sponsors, Longines, at Tsimshatsui's Park Lane Shopping Arcade today. Wearing a deep blue backless dress, Carina drew in the crowds and was rewareded by a Longines Admiral watch, worth HK$20,200 and a crystal ox figurine with a baby's dummy around its neck. The MC explained that this was a good luck symbol for Carina to bring some more good news to everyone next year. During the event, Carina was arranged to pose with a topless male model and she found this rather amusing as she held back the giggles. Afterwards, Carina was asked if she plans to have a child in the year of the ox next year and she replied smiling that she thought it was a warning to take care with dairy products. She added that she is in no rush to have children because she has only just got married and her husband Tony Leung (梁朝偉) is currently busy learning Kung Fu for his forthcoming film Wing Chun <詠春>. She revealed that Tony has been taking his training regime very seriously, firstly gaining weight and then building muscle, so he is comparable to the male model at the event. Asked about the recent rumours that she and Tony have left her long term management company Project House and signed with Peter Lam (林建嶽)'s company, Carina said that she did not understand where these rumours emerged from because she is still under contract with Project House and Wong Kar Wai (王家衛) who is a close personal friend as well as a strong business associate, with whom she holds a great mutual respect. She described Tony's relationship with Wong and William Chang (張叔平) as an "iron triangle" and she expressed her confidence that the relationship will continue long into the future.
