Don't get ahead of yourself now... Given the slashed interest rate, I think the exchange rate will cool down a bit in the days to come...
Its True I Went To Depost $xxx.000 and it was FREAKIN A DOLLAR LESS Then Canadian So I Freakin Lost Money when i had to transfer it over to canadian dollars. I Lost A DOLLAR! OMG WTF is wrong? everytime i goto the bank US gets weaker and weaker and the canadian keeps gettin stronger. a year ago if i were to put that same amount if woulda gained $50+ CDN
the US economy is going down. i hate america with all its taxes and stuff. last year for my income, i got taxed like 10k and only got back 2 grand. wtf is that...
Careful. careful...it is the freaking war that the u.s. are in...once that is over, it is coming back up. They slasj the interest rate today (I think), so look for the bonds to move up. It the short run, they are trying to prevent depression/recession in the states. By pumping money or reducing interest rates, people will continue buying stuff etc etc...basic economic theory... I think. Feel free to correct me ...cheers
It's not like the Feds has a choice of NOT slashing the rates. I think one bank in the UK, Northern Rock, already flagged a red alert to all financial institutes around the world... I simply cannot believe at this day and time there's a panic-induced run that can possibly bankrupt a bank. But no, I think the recession/depression trend will persist despite US's best effort to alleviate it...
My 3 cents is that they will be able to maintain what is current. The only other factor affecting the US is the imports from the Chinese. America is buying cheap and selling high. When other countries don have money to buy american made stuff, and even the americans buy foreign imports, then there is no jobs for the americans. When there is panic, then that's when crap is going to happen...it is already well known in the "educated" community that this is happening....so ppl are already cutting spending and shrinking on investments...so you might be right if there is PANIC...but I don't wish for it ...Americans are right next door....Canadians might get spray with shit...
I am certain that the consequence for parity will be painful for most developed countries, EU, US and Canada, even Asia (since many countries has fixed exchange rate with USD). But heck, Canadians should take advantage of the parity (if it happens) while they can... Now I just wonder if any bank will be closing down soon... -rolleyes And with the rate slash, I think the exchange rate had stablised a bit... 1.0000 CAD = 0.9846 USD
