Hong Kong tycoon, Cecil Chao (趙世曾), made an outrageous offer to pay $500 million HKD to any man who is able to win his daughter’s hand in marriage. Chao revealed that more than 100 men have applied for the financially rewarding position. Chao’s “marriage bounty” came after his 33-year-old daughter, Gigi Chao (趙式芝), announced last week that she had married her same-sex partner, Sean Yeung (楊如芯), in April in France. Chao quickly issued a press statement denying that his daughter had married anyone. Chao Offers $500 Million for Suitable Man Chao stated, “I had a lengthy discussion with Gigi; she is not a lesbian. I do not think that she has this tendency.” Although Gigi and Sean have dated for seven years, Chao believes that this may be an interim stage, but not her ultimate destiny. “I will set aside $500 million HKD. You help me find a son-in-law. I hope that my daughter will have a good partner,” Chao had said earlier this week. Gigi and Sean Not Legally Married Sean said, “We are truly in love and wish to make a commitment towards each other. Under the witness of our priest, we signed blessing papers.
