The photobook featuring six-year-old child star Celine Yeung (楊鎧凝) has been removed from shelves amidst complaints about several “inappropriate” photos. The book was withdrawn from sale at the Hong Kong Book Fair, and an autograph signing was also canceled.

The book raised concerns of indecency when several spreads in the photobook showed Celine cladded in underwear, some with her legs open. The Against Child Abuse agency (ACA) expressed that the photos were disturbing and suggested the publishers to remove said photos from the book. The police are also investigating.

On Celine’s official Facebook, which has over 223,000 followers, her mother left a statement, announcing that she has decided to pull away the mentioned photos for the book’s next edition. She said she accompanied her daughter throughout the shooting process in South Korea, but did not participate in the photo selection.

In regards to the “indecent” photos in the book, Celine’s mother admitted that these results were unexpected. She concluded, “In order to not affect people’s impression of the photobook, after discussing with our family and the publisher, we decided to take away a few photos in the next edition. Celine had a very happy time during her trip in Jeju, South Korea, and the purpose of this book is to bring a child’s happiness to everyone. Wish everyone a happy day!”

Although Celine’s photobook has been taken off shelves at the Hong Kong Book Fair, the photobook is still being promoted at the fair. The photobook is also still selling at convenience stores, where it is displayed along with other photobooks featuring seductively-dressed pseudo-models.
