I think them cell phone policy is dumb. They had a cell phone check at our school and I almost got caught by the principal. Just wondering if your school has something on cell phones at school???

Well in high school, we were allowed to use them anywhere except in class. Oh and there was some sorta restriction on camera phones because i went to a uniformed school.

technically..we're not supposed to have our cells on when we're on campus. if they ring or a teacher sees it's on, it's taken up plus $15 to get it back. and i dont think theyre even supposed to be visible during class hours..but i see people texting and all quite a bit anyway.

ok to have, not turned on other than during luunch. not on during passing period. seen with it during not ok hours and conficsation. Usually teachers are lenient unless its realy assy teacher.

when i was at school you weren't allowed to bring onto schoolgrounds but everybody does anyway and if the teachers caught you with it your parents have to come and claim it for you at the end of the day or the following day - Very very bad :(

at my campus, technically cells aren't allowed to be on and out in the open in classes but so far the teachers have been pretty lenient. i mean kid's cells have been ringing a couple of times in different classes of mine during class but the teach didn't really care and sometimes we even joke about it.

They have cell phone policies now? Well, in college, I don't really thin kthey have much of a cell phone policy. I mean, like, they have stupid signs in classrooms I believe that go, turn off cell phones. Or osmething liek that. they also say no food or drinks in class room too. But then again, I don't really think anyone really follows those rules. I still see people eating in class. And I don't think most professors really care about that stuff. I mean I still here like cell phones go off during class. And I think most professors just ignore it. or they just go, please turn off your cell phones. and that's it. I mean, I don't htink they can take it away and stuff. They usually just warn you and stuff. And it doesn't really happen al lthe time. And sometimes there are so many people in the class room, how are they going to know which one it is? I don't know about high school though. Probably a lot less freedom. But what are they gonna do? give you detention? or suspend you ? I dunno. hehe

That's true you can use it anywhere. But depends on the university and professor.

Naw, if the prof dont let u use cellphone in class you can still take the call outside, because no one cares about students entering/leaving the classroom anytime.

umm...so where are you trying to disagree with me...?

didn't i already say ..."that's true you can use it anywhere. But depends on the university and professor."? But you can't literally use it anywhere...because you MIGHT not be able to use it in a classroom DURING a lecture...WHICH DEPENDS on the university and professor....if the professor is NOT strict...THEN...you may be able to use it EVEN IN class....if the professor IS STRICT...THEN...you'll probably have to go outside...therefore i was agreeing with your previous statement...so i don't see how your last statement should the word "naw"...which seems to show disagreement with what I have said.

I think that pretty much sums up everything.

    ^u really got him man...
at my skool, cell phones r strictly prohibited! even prefects can confiscate it if u r seen wif it during skool hours. once confiscated, parents r called. n u hav to pay a sum of money to get it back...2gether wif some punishment, depending on the senior assistants or principal. if u dun pay, u will hav to wait till the end of the year b4 u can get it back.

but now the government seems to create a new policy...students can bring their cell phones to skool...n it muz b off when the lesson starts. it's allowed to b on when the skool haven start, during recess, n of coz after skool. i dun think it'll work...students wont off it during lessons...juz silent it, n tat's all. wat a lame idea from the government. dun u guys think so? <_<

Well, lyguy, I'm glad to be helping you get your post count up. I want to get my post count up too. But it's good enough right now. haha =)

Hmm, ziggy, are you still in high school? Hmm, how is the government going to enforce the policy? ARe they going to give tickets? Hmm, I can only imagine. It would be kinda funny and messed up. I'm pictureing that they have like cops walking from class to class doing strip searches, HAHA. And whoever has a cell phone ON gets a ticket for who knows how much.

But I think, if they started giving tickets for having cell phones on during class. It may actually make students turn off their phones because they might not want to face the consequences.

But of course, there are those students who like to break rules just because they think it's cool. And sometimes I think, creating more rules might create more 'chaos'. The reason why I am thinking this is that, is that it is easier to break rules when there are more rules. I mean like for example, if a certain school has like 100 rules and another school has 10 rules, then doesn't seem that it would be easier to break one of 100 rules than 1 of 10 rules. It's like, I see it as having a higher probability of screwing up when you ahve more rules. So, then it would seem that the school might be more 'chaotic' since there are so many kids that 'misbehave'. But then this can't be helped if the probability of screwing up is increased with more rules. But yea, this is just a random thought.

But yea, it's kinda stupid. I mean, i'm sure they have their reasons to make students do that. Maybe many teachers complained about it or something. Or adults, simply hate teens. And they like to restrict them in an attempt to make them better people.

back in high school.... we were only allowed to use it beforeschool/during lunch/afterschool...

some bs about it notbeing allowed between classes. most of the staff didnt care aboutthatrule, butsome did.

in college....yeh..in classes of 300+ ppl...not much the profesor wil do...just take ur call outside.... even better if u had vibrate on.... just dont sit near the center of a packed row lol.

in smaller classes..of...30 or less ppl.... try not...to walk out to takethecall...some of the professorswill hold such things against you.

not much of a problem for me... just as long as the teacher doesn't see. its not supposed to be "on" during class hours but people text like crazy anyway, some teacher don't even care...
