cell phone suggestion...

anyone got a suggestion for a cell phone (not looking for flame war!)

a lot of new phones are just HUGE... reminds me of the 1980s bricks the investment bankers carried!

jsut want a simple cell phone that will let me do:

• make/recv call
• send/recv txt msgs
• importantplay mp3s
• uses standard 3.5mm headphone jack
• has expandable memory via SD card or similar
• usb link to update mp3 tracks (device seen usb mass storage)

i have no need for 20.1gizillion megapixel camera or video capabilities... does such a phone exist?

 

i dont have any suggestions except, do not get the RAZR V3. its only for looks.

I just got my hand on a Nokia N91.. and it is super. M currently using it to listen to MP3s and other musics i downloaded here and other places.

It has everything you listed:

* make/recv call
* send/recv txt msgs
* importantplay mp3s
* uses standard 3.5mm headphone jack
* has expandable memory via SD card or similar (Don have this, but it comes with a 4GB Microdrive HD)
* usb link to update mp3 tracks (device seen usb mass storage)

what about Motorola L7?

has all tat u stated....except for the expandable memory which i am not sure...

 

go for sony ericsson k 750

2 mega pixel
memory slot
n the size is ok.....(kind of small)

 

l7 or k750i should get the job done for u

 

thanks for the suggestions, but i find the sony's (ie k750i/w850) still a little too big bulky for me, in particular a little too thick -- and i think the reason for this is cos they have a ridiculous camera...

[ rant ] why do all the phone manufacturers think that we're all upskirt pervs with these camera phones!?!? [ /rant ]

i read somewhere that the motorola slvr has the highest output of radiation out of all new cell phones.

 

I haven't read anything about the radiation and the SLVR but that would be my suggestion. It has all the features you named: makes and receives calls, has text messaging capabilites, has iTunes interface for your mp3s, uses mini usb connector, has headset jack, removable media storage (transflash up to 512mb). It also has extras such as integrated camera, video capture, polyphonic speaker, bluetooth capable, etc.

If mp3s is very important than this is the phone for you.

 

N91 is damn expensive cost about $1000

 

wait for the SE K800i ... play mp3, 3.2 plx cam,umts, rss new reader, email, .and is looks great

 

Nokia 8800! Very durable if you like to chuck your phone around

 

Samsung D600...only does not have the 3.5mm headphone jack, but the Samsung's original headphone is great and provides good base

 

i think its gonna cost loads, ive recently been wanting it too

 

samsung cells are the best!
