So here's the question: have any of you guys EVER pretended like you were talking on your cell phone in public while you were waiting for a friend, a ride, or because you trying to avoid someone? lol, fess up people! I'm sure you've done it, or at least thought of doing it at one point your life. Well today when I ran into this one girl that I used to know back in middle school, and to avoid having to confront her and feeling all uncomfortable, I pretended like I was talking on my cell phone so she wouldn't come up to me. -lol It was pretty stupid now that I think about it, but it worked! Hahah...so how many of you guys have ever done this, or know/seen someone who has?
did the same was tryin to avoid a girl too and many other times to get myself out of some awkward situations
So once, I was standing on the corner waiting for my friend to pick me up. I saw this guy and stared at him because I thought he looked like somebody I knew. He totally thought I was checking him out! Anyway, he started talking on his phone, and while he was on the phone, he was just pacing back & forth in front of me. Meanwhile, I'm standing there rolling my eyes. Anyway, I have the tendency to listen in on other people's conversations when I'm bored, so I started paying attention to what he was saying. He was talking about a sexual 'escapade' that he had with a girl the night before. Of course, the phone starts ringing while he was talking. I almost died, but good thing my friend came by and I hopped in her car and bounced. Another time, I was on the van to chinatown. I called up my brother to tell him I was on my way to pick up the sideskirts and bumper for his car. A little after that, this guy on the van got on the phone and started talking about hooking up his car, saying all these things that he was gonna do to it and stuff. Then somebody alerted him on nextel. Niiiice. Totally stupid. I don't know why these people have to front like they're something they're not. Personally, I've never done that before with my phone, because half the time, I don't even have my phone with me. I did, however, ditch somebody by setting off my beeper back in the days when everybody had beepers.
never done that but it wouldn't work anyways. people still come up to me when i'm talking on my cell phone so it really wouldn't work for me. maybe if i had earbuds in my ears then they wouldn't come up to me.
