After the concert of Twins held in GongMoon, Charlene at least could not resist anymore, and she was rushed back to Hong Kong during the night to go to the hospital. Because the blood pressure of Charlene had continuously been dropping, she had to be given I.V. fluids and was kept in the hospital for the night. During Tuesday of last week, Charlene already had a fever and diarrhea, but she was still obligated to keep working. While Twins were in GongMoon two nights ago, the situation had made a turn for the worse, so Charlene had to quickly return to HK for medical treatment. At three in the morning on Saturday, Charlene, her mother, and her helpers reached Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital. When asked if she is feeling ill as she heavily stepped out of her van, Charlene, looking like she was about to cry, replied sadly, "Yes." When Charlene reached the hospital, she lay on the sofa to rest, and the nurses soon came with a wheelchair to bring her into the patient rooms. She finally went back home yesterday morning, but she was not able to attend the awards ceremony held in Singapore yesterday night. Her partner, Gillian Chung, was sent to go alone. During the awards ceremony, Gillian explained Charlene's situation and apologized to the fans. It was said that her illness came from a cold that would not go away, therefore bacteria entered her intestines, leading to her fever and diarrhea. Charlene's blood pressure has gone below average to a degree of 50, and she needed to accept the I.V. fluids to lighten the illness. During an interview, Charlene's manager, Mani Fok, admitted that Charlene's blood pressure has been dropping rapidly, "Not only is her blood pressure dropping, but her weight is dropping as well. She has lost seven pounds in three to four days. Right now, she is only ninety-two pounds! (Will you arrange for Charlene to have more time to rest?) I will think about it seriously." In fact, even during the concert, Charlene was not feeling very well, but because the show must go on, Charlene was determined to go through until the last minute.
