Chen Xiao Proposed to Michelle Chen in Paris

Dating for only eight months, 32-year-old Michelle Chen (陳妍希) and 28-year-old Chen Xiao‘s (陳曉) relationship is moving at lightning speed. While vacationing in Paris earlier, Chen Xiao proposed to Michelle with a two-carat diamond ring valued at 1.6 million RMB.

The couple fell in love while filming Mainland Chinese drama Return of the Condor Heroes <神鵰俠侶>, while starring as Yang Guo and Little Dragon Girl. Although Chen Xiao is younger than her by four years, Michelle is impressed by his handsome looks, humor, and also the fact that he is a filial son and attentive person. Although both are often separated long distance due to their filming schedules, they texted and called each other on the phone every day.

In the initial stages of their dating relationship, the couple was very careful in keeping a low-profile. In June, Chen Xiao was spotted in the same Shanghai hotel that Michelle was staying at. Since their relationship became public, the couple has generously shared their vacation photos on social media.

In an earlier interview, Chen Xiao declared his eagerness to get married and have a family soon. “It is possible that I may have a flash marriage. If I meet the right person, I will get married!” Hinting that he has already found the right person in Michelle, Chen Xiao wrote on his Weibo blog, “One day, you will take my surname!”

Through her manager, Michelle stated, “Right now, I am truly enjoying our wonderful romance. If there are additional developments, we will share with everyone!”

Chen Xiao’s manager did not outright deny the couple’s engagement news. “I am not sure, as this is an artiste’s personal affair. If there is good news, we hope to receive everyone’s blessing.”

Michelle is Pregnant?

Many speculate the couple’s quick engagement may be due to Michelle’s rumored pregnancy. Earlier this summer, Michelle was suddenly sent to the hospital when she fell ill while filming in China. Chen Xiao had said to reporters at the time, “If I’m lucky, my baby will be older than Angelababy’s baby” and “I will soon be a father.” However, Michelle’s manager had denied Michelle’s pregnancy rumors at the time.

Although surprised by the engagement news and not sure whether to believe its validity, Shu Qi (舒淇), Ruby Lin (林心如), and Huang Xiaoming (黃曉明) nevertheless offered their congratulations to Michelle and Chen Xiao.
