Blast wave from meteor hitting the atmosphere injures hundreds in Siberia, here's a link to six separate videos from Russia: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2013/02/15/world/europe/16meteorite_videogrid.html?hp Coincidentally, Russians have been plagued for years by accident fraud, with criminals purposely jumping in front of cars and pretending to be hit, in an effort to sue or extort money. Thus, most Russian drivers have dash cams pre-installed; it's probably considered there as normal as having a car radio. In this case, with many independent dash cams already constantly recording, the visual capture of the meteor as it streaked through Russia's sky was a no brainer. Note, according to one interview with the Science Guy, the meteor didn't actually hit anything; the blast wave was primarily from it striking the atmosphere and then exploding into fragments.
