Otherwise, the 41-year-old may go blind, Apple Daily reported today. Last December, after completing TVB drama, Triumph in the Skies 2 <衝上雲霄II>, which required on location filming in London, Paris, and Taiwan, Chilam has been quietly resting at home. He has also been taking care of 7-year-old son, Morton, while wife, Anita Yuen (袁詠儀), has been filming in Beijing. The couple is known to rotate their work assignments so that one person can continue to look after Morton at any given time. The time that Chilam and Anita do have together, they often go out on dates with their friends. According to Apple Daily, another reason Chilam has been staying home is that he is actually battling a malignant disease. His eyes have been twitching frequently. The tabloid reported that Chilam’s doctor found that an artery has suppressed the nerves in his eye and if left untreated, vision loss may result. Chilam has been visiting his doctor for frequent followup checkups, but the permanent remedy is to receive brain surgery. Chilam Calms Fears Speaking with Oriental Daily, Chilam said,”Thanks for everyone’s concern! It’s true that my nerves were suppressed, causing my eyelids to frequently twitch. But they have stopped twitching now. The doctor did not feel that the problem is severe.” Will he become blind due to the condition? Chilam reassured, “That’s a bit exaggerated. In April, I will be filming a 3D movie with Gillian Chung (鍾欣桐) and Kara Hui (惠英紅). There will be action scenes. If my condition were so severe, I would not have agreed to film the project!” Meanwhile, during his free time, Chilam has been exercising regularly and jogging to maintain his healthy lifestyle.
