Chinese Wedding Question

    Is it true that if there are more than one uncles in the bride's family (on the mother's side), they cannot sit at the same table during the wedding reception? The bride's mother would be the youngest in the family and two uncles are older. That's something that I've heard and thought was insane and didn't make sense.

    A lot of "Chinese wedding custom" is regionally dependent, especially within the Peal River Delta. Sometimes even villages as close as 'the next valley' may have distinct variations on the nuptials. I myself haven't heard of such a thing, but that doesn't mean it can't be possible. Insofar as strange wedding customs, there used to be something called the "delayed transfer marriage" where the bride was not allowed to move in with her husband for a minimum of three years after the wedding; talk about frustrating marriages, LOL...
