Saturday, March 10, 2007 China Chiu Man-Cheuk Sets Sights On Hollywood Career Mainland action star Chiu Man-Cheuk has spoken out about his recent marriage to actress Zhang Danlu and his intention to launch a Hollywood career. Chiu Man-Cheuk on Friday said he has signed a contract to develop his profile in the United States with CAA agency, the American agency that handles Tom Cruise. He is now in Los Angeles, where he studies English every day and regularly meets with American directors and producers. He likely to appear in his first Hollywood movie in May, a joint production by companies based in China, the United States and Britain. Chiu Man-Cheuk said life in Los Angeles is very hard, as he can not speak the local language and gets lost on the streets. But he says he has made some progress thanks to Jackie Chan's encouragement. Chiu Man-Cheuk also confessed he tied the knot with Zhang Danlu in June last year. Uhm... I'm not familiar with most Mainland actors/actresses.. but does Hollywood really need ANOTHER action star? Chow Yun Fat was the ultimate HK action star and his Hollywood movies have been flops. The only reason why Jackie Chan has been somewhat successful is cuz of his stunts.. I hope this is not another wash-out..
