It has been reported that someone has stolen the late actress, Choi Jin-shil’s ashes from her burial!

According to the police, apparently the thief that stole Choi Jin-shil’s ashes from the burial site at Yangpyeong Yangsur, smashed one side of the marble tomb and stole Choi Jin-shi’s ashes. The only thing police have found were two empty bottles of soju near the scene of the crime.

Sadly, the security camera that was set up near Choi Jin-shil’s burial has not been functioning since August 13th, making it harder for the police to find the culprit. However, it has been reported that surrounding security cameras were in working condition and will be thoroughly checked to see if the culprit was caught on any of the cameras. At the moment, investigators have attained finger print samples at the scene and are currently still investigating the case.

Who in their right mind would even think of doing something like this? It must be devastating for her family, to have the remains of their loved one stolen. Hopefully the culprit will be caught soon and Choi Jin-shil’s ashes will be safely returned to her burial site, where she can lay in peace.

The late actress Choi Jin-sil would be turning in her grave as someone vandalized her tomb and stole the urn that contained her ashes.

Choi’s family and friends are angry and in shock after learning that someone broke the actress’ tomb and got her remains. Choi was buried in a cemetery in Yangpyeong.

One of the first to rush to the cemetery was actress and comedian Lee Young Ja, who co-starred with Choi in the hit drama series “Last Scandal”.

The Korean police are investigating the incident.

Choi committed suicide on October 2, 2008 in her home. She was 39.

The ash box of the late South Korean actress Choi Jin-sil disappeared overnight from her tomb and the police are investigating the case, Yonhap News Agency reported Saturday.

The police were informed around 8:10 a.m. on Saturday from the cemetery management office that the late actress’ ash jar inside her tomb in Gyeonggi Province was stolen.

“A security guard was patrolling around the cemetery this morning and discovered the flowers on Choi’s tomb were littered around the place in a disorderly manner. When he approached to clean the site, he discovered that the tomb was broken and Choi’s ash jar was missing,” an official with the cemetery was quoted as saying in the piece.

The police are examining the two empty Soju bottles in front of the tomb for traces of finger prints as well as closed circuit TV footages for possible clues.

Apparently, the incident happened sometime after 6 p.m. Friday night because the cemetery patrol didn’t find anything suspicious at that time.

The incident may have been committed by an emotional fan who was deeply attached to the late actress, South Korean broadcaster YTN said.

In October last year, Choi’s mother found the actress, 40 at that time, with an elastic band around her neck, tied to a shower stall in her home in southern Seoul, in an apparent suicide.

Since her debut in 1988, Choi swiftly climbed the career ladder to become a household name, clinching main roles in soap operas, movies and commercials to win subsequent awards.
