hi lads not sure if u have seen my previous computer post that ive been having a cooling issue with my Asetek Watercooling kit, well i just got rid of all the dust and stupidly decide to take a look at the contact between the cpu and cooling plate, during his process i rub the thermal paste off the cpu which i dont know why i did that lol but yeh as a result i couldnt put the cooling kit bak on but somehow i did it, as i turn my pc on straight away within 5 sec strong burning smell coming out lol

is my cooling kit broke as i fucked it up lol, before i took it apart to take a look my idle temp was 60-70 and highest was 80c so surely the cooling kit is faulty of shit

i think u should take it apart again and look carefully is the motherboard is still good
last time i put my rammemory in the motherboard the wrong way and the motherboard burned
gives the same burn smell and wont go away

i took the graphics card for a clean put it back in which only goes in one way, and then my water cooling kit which failed badly >.< i dunno if i actually put it bak correctly which cause the strong burning smell, but anyway i quickly turned it bak off a few my mates said the watercooling is failed i order a Xilence Quad Core CPU Cooler and Thermal Paste off ebuyer hope this solves the problem.

Like i said before i took it apart, my temp was very very high idle 60c-70c and max loads 80c+ which is very worrying

When you put the cooling pad back on did you clean it off completely with rubbing alcohol and reapply your thermal paste?

Then make sure your contact with the cpu is secure and tight. You're temps are definitely high.

change a cpu cooler that can take the Quad Core temp cos Quad Core is very hot

depending on which version of quad-core...don't assume all are hot...
hated when ppl will stop using a brand or say they are bad then they encounter the problem themselves...(aka Samsung hdd is bad because it failed on them once)

anyway why go with the fancy stuff where you can use stock hsf and probably less to worry about...:ohnoes:
