Do you mean that you want to extract the audio from the video file? I'm assuming MV =p You can do that using virtualdubmod but it will come out as wav and then convert it to MP3 using besweetgui (both freeware) If your still stuck then I suggest you go to the doom9 forums and ask there

i use my 'Aimersoft Zune video converter' and convert any type of format to mp3, then i can cut it as i please using moviemaker or w/e
Depends on what type of video type it is, I tend to avoid ripping off video audio because the quality isn't great.
