Cosmetic surgeon claims 95% of Korean stars had gone under the knife SHANDONG, CHINA: A renowned Korean cosmetic surgeon claimed on Tuesday that 95 per cent of the celebrities in Korea had gone under the knife, reported Chinese media. "In the Korean entertainment industry, cosmetic surgery is a pre-requisite to entering showbiz. Just at the hospital I work at, a few hundred celebrities have had work done," said Shin Yong Ho, who was invited to Jinan city in Shandong, China, as a guest by a local cosmetic surgery hospital. Shin himself heads a hospital which claims it had performed cosmetic procedures for a third of Korea's A-list celebrities. When asked why these celebrities are so enthusiastic about surgery, the cosmetic surgeon explained that competition is fierce and many have no choice but to undergo cosmetic surgery. "In Korea, the television stations have this practice of giving less screen time, or even no screen time at all to hosts who have one too many wrinkles on their faces. That is why a lot of female stars will go for facelifts when they show even the slightest sign of aging. "That way, they not only maintain their skin's lustre but also ensure they still get some screen time," said Shin. Reporters pressed Shin to talk about some of his celebrity clients, but he was only willing to name one – K-Pop singer Shim Mina, who shot to fame after appearing in numerous photos during the 2002 World Cup. He said he had done breast augmentation procedures on her. "There are many others but these celebrities are not willing to admit it so it is not convenient to talk about them," said Shin.

It's a known fact that it's fierce over there but I'm surprised it's that high. I was thinking of more like 70%. These artists get PS on days they have shows on, like those live music shows.
there's only a few handful of them that i kno of didnt get any plastic surgery and they look pretty...... Shin Min ah, Song hye Kyo (the prettiest), hyoyeon, yoona, etc.
