Just read a really sad article: http://www.news10.net/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=90045&provider=top

As I had been shopping for a new car and had been looking at on line crash test videos; the thought suddenly occurred to me, how come there are no crash or safety standards for rear end impacts or collisions?

    Comments?

ADDENDUM: after looking more into this issue, it seems that there are rear collision standards, but they are primarily focused on your vehicle crashing into something as you are backing up, and not if you were rear ended by someone else traveling at high speed.
