Wednesday November 7, 2007 Hong Kong CRHK's 2007 Chik Chak Pop Music Awards ceremony <叱咤樂壇流行榜頒獎典禮> will be taking place at the Asia World Expo centre on 01 January 2008. A press event and games party was held today to announce the arrangements and attended by a host of big names representing the music industry, including Leo Ku (古巨基), Eason Chan (陳奕迅), Twins, Joey Yung (容祖兒), Denise Ho (何韻詩), Miriam Yeung (楊千嬅), Hins Cheung (張敬軒), Eric Suen (孫耀威) and Ivana Wong (王菀之). To tie in with the theme of the tenth anniversary of the return of Hong Kong to Chinese rule, the awards this year will include an award for the "Most Representative Outfit Worn in the Last 10 Years" and also an award for "My Most Most Most Most Most Most Most Most Most Most Favourite Song". This will be selected from the top ten favourite songs in the last ten years and among the songs that are up for nomination are Jacky Cheung (張學友)'s "For Me Just Love One Day" <只要為我愛一天>; "The More Kisses The More Sadness" <越吻越傷心> by William So (蘇永康); "Fortunate Ferris Wheel" <幸福摩天輪>, "Karaoke King" <K歌之王> and "Infinite Good Of Sunset" <夕陽無限好> by Eason Chan; "Killer Move" <必殺技>, "Loving Too Late" <愛得太遲> and "Love and Sincerity" <愛與誠> by Leo Ku; Candy Lo (盧巧音) "Kind Split" <好心分手> and "Unable To Speak" <開不了口> by Jay Chow (周杰倫). There is early speculation that Joey will take the female singers gold award this year and asked if she was confident, she said that she will just think about the participation. She feels that the industry is becoming more and more compact and she hopes that everyone will cherish it. She admitted that she is not a very ambitious person and she hopes that this will help her to make her work run a lot smoother in the future when she concentrates on quality. She expressed a wish for the audience to support her. Last year's gold award was won by Denise and asked if she felt that the award should go to Joey this year, she said graciously that Joey is ahead this year, so it is only natural for her to win, but she did not feel defeated at all. As for the rumours that awards are coming between their friendship, Denise smiled that if that was the case, then it would have happened over 390 times! She sad that it is the same every year and the audience understands. As for the suggestion that Miriam will win the My Favourite Female Singer award again this year, Denise said that this is likely because there are a lot of people who like Miriam. Miriam was asked about all the rumours that she will not make the top three for the female singer, but will win the popularity awards and the Asia Pacific award at TVB's Jade Solid Gold awards, she said that she has tried her best and as well as completing her concert run, she has also released an album and made movies. For her, the happiest event was being able to see her fans at her concerts. Asked if she feels that the fans have stepped her up an "immortal" idol now, she replied that the true immortal is Eason because he has got married and has a daughter, so he is very happy. Asked if she also has an other half, she said that if she did, she would say, but she can only wish for now. Eason responded to Miriam's idea of him becoming immortal, saying that she was exaggerating and they are good friends pulling each other's legs. Talking of the speculations that he will take the male singers' gold award this year, Eason said that he has only released a Mandarin album earlier in the year and his Cantonese album is late, so he is not in a good position this year, but no-one knows the result until the day of the ceremony. With rumours that he has fallen out with Leo, they both quashed these suggestions by laughing, chatting and joking with each other. Hins is tipped to take the male singers bronze award, but he said that he is not confident. i heard there's a winner list predication out already, i think its for this award. they said, that Joey Yung will win the gold award for Best female singer; Eason Chan would win the gold award for Best male singer, Hins Cheung will win the silver award for the same category, i forgot what else.
silver will be huge...for hins... he had a good year and should win over leo and justin.....hope they are kind to Hins this year.
