Sweetie pie Cyndi Wang was criticized by netizens for doing a bad job at lip-syncing in a live performance, making a fool out of herself. She was invited as special performing guest at the opening match of the Chinese Professional Baseball League. It was a warm-up performance for her having been missing from the scene for almost a year; not only did she not sing live, Wang made obvious errors with her lip-sync and drew major displeasure from the public who expressed, "Did you think it is easy to make money? At least sync accurately and let us see your effort!" She was upset to hear the poor responses and said she will take the criticisms and work at it. Wang's manager Chang Jiarong explained that they had to make without a rehearsal because the match was ongoing. In addition to that, the stadium's sound system, unlike a professional stage's, was unsuitable for live singing. Chang said that though Wang went with the organizer's plan for her to lip-sync; she still chose to have her microphone on throughout the performance. She also emphasized that Wang had taken the performance very seriously. "She was practicing at the dance studio for two hours the night before.
