i was very excited in 20th july, waiting to be the first to grab my favorite harry potter 7.suddenly i got a call from my cousin..she said that those who preordered a copy of harry potter online will not get their books delivered to them and they need to collect them from the bookstore. i was surprised to learn it because i was one of the them. never mind, i thought.. i could get it straight away tomorrow after work in the noon. at 1pm i reached the bookstore. there was a long queue and i waited patiently. the girl customer in front of the counter left and i was one step ahead to get my favorite book. it was my turn finally..i showed the girl my order id and transaction id in a scribbled piece of paper. she looked at me in surprise and said she was unable to hand me a copy because there wasn't any extra reserved for those who made online payment and insisted that the copy will be delivered to my door. i confirmed to her that i read an announcement made in the bookstore web page and i was very clear of it. it stated that the customers who preordered it needs to collect from the outlet. she once again assured that i will get it soon. i thank her but of course i was uncomfortable watching the girls who managed to get their book giggled and walked away happily. i called the customer service line and demanded for an explanation. either the girl was a noob or the girl was so indifferent that she kept apologizing to me because she didn't know a thing. she asked me to call back the day after so that she can pass the line to someone who is familiar with the procedure. fine, i said. i did call back today, hoping that they give me a satisfactory excuse. i held my temper and talked to him politely, which was once again proven futile because the guy's excuse was exactly the same as the girl yesterday. i am so disappointed with their attitude and ineffeciency as one of the largest bookstores in malaysia. the whole point of me ordering in march 2007 because i wanted to be the first one to read the book. and the day of the launching was my birthday and i wanted to make it memorable so i got myself a little present on my big day. i made my payment on time but i yet to get it after the first day of launching. their first come first served basis has failed me and made me lose my faith on them. with the lame excuse as not extra stock reserved for me is rubbish! i have already send a complaint through email to them before i even called and received no reply. what should do next? stomp to the store and demand for a rebate?
you can try causing a riot, but it'll only get you in a police car...so looks like you've got no choice but wait...
I think you should call them again and this time, sound angry - it might get their attention. OR the best one is to write it in The Star or the newspaper and make a public complaint - that should get their attention. Also, It was kinda shocked that they (major ones) decided not to sell Harry Potter book.
i have the version posted by mav lol but not sure if it's a fanfic or real one lol...i restrained myself from reading it the day before hp was released, hoping to get my hands on the original version...so down now lol...

Have you made a screenshot of that web announcement? Print that out, take it to the store and demand to see the manager and if they still can't help you, send an official complaint to the webpage of that bookstore and find out whether there are more disappointed fans in the same situation like you who had pre-ordered the book, read the announcement and going to the bookstore but got turned away because the people working there know nothing about it.
^i guess i could use your idea.. the sales girl didn't really know about the announcement but she just shouldn't shooed me away by saying that the book will be delivered to my house..and i asked her to check my transaction ID online to make sure i've paid but she refused. she asked me where did i make my payment online. silly right? does it matter where i online? it's not like they can track my ip address anyway. the thing is the book store is a major bookstore and i expect more from them. they should at least keep extra copies for customers like me. when i asked her to go online i can hear the impatience in her tone and there were still a few people behind me so i didn't really ask much. i did curse to my dog lol...poor thing she was looking at me with her pathetic eyes lmao. yeah very disappointed indeed. mind you i paid extra for the book because i transferred my money to their account and the bank charged me extra MYR2.00 for different bank transaction. so my book a lil more expensive... i doubt that i could get it early lol..preparing myself to create havoc in the bookstore tomorrow.jks jks lol...
you might wanta get all seven books from the last torrent. I dint dl it, so I don;t know if it is any good.

you don't understand ab289, apparently all major bookstores in malaysia refuse to sell HP final installment...because those stupid hypermarkets are selling it at very cheap price.. i ordered for MYR 99.90 and the hypermarket selling it at MYR 69.90...either they are suffering a loss or they don't want to make profit at all...and the stock cleared very fast...that's why the bookstores boycott and refuse to sell it...if they do sell the book i could easily grab a copy...the thing is i already paid earlier so i have no choice but to wait.

Poor ypu they totally spoil ur birthday ehh....-sweat Let me guess the bookstore u mean might be MPH....No offense to ne malaysians but i personally don really trust the ordering system in malaysia...the mails are always never delivered and when i pre-order stuff they neva reach on time or don come at all....So, i have given up.
