Do You Choose Actors/Actresses When Watching Serials???

I know my topic question was kind of long, but basically my question is: Are actors/actresses an important factor for you when deciding what TVB series to watch?

Like for ex... do you watch any TVB serial regardless of the story/plot if your favorite actor/actress happens to be in it, or do you pass on any TVB serial that has a good plot/story just because an actor/actress you hate is in it?


Before, I used to watch all the series without even checking to see who's in it. I'll just go for the plot, and the actors just come in then. It's always the storyline which makes them more appealing to me. However, I've noticed that ever since year 2003 onwards, I tend to choose actors 1st no matter how good the show is. If the TVB series is showing I dislike as the leading actor/actress and there's no other better ones I like in the show, I'll choose not to watch no matter how great the story is. I never watch any series with Sonija, Joe Ma, Shirley Yeung, or Joyce Tang. But if the series has Raymond or Bosco in it, no matter how bad the ratings are I'll still watch it because they're good-looking and I enjoy their acting, so that makes up for the bad plot.

oh yeah..i totally watch the series if i like the actors or actresses in it, regardless of the ratings

 

i watch the series b/c of the ppl in it..for example i haate ancient series but if i really like the celeb then ill watch it

its just that i dont like the idea of olden days stuff..i hate history.i don't like talkin about the past...its all about present and future...all the flying stuff and those clothing make me not wanna watch it..only the fighting is good..the swords..i watch the mokey king 3 because of twins =)

 

hahah monkey king, I still have it in the depths of my Hard Drive...pull it out once in a while and watch it again. i though charlene was really cute in it..

I always check the cast first before i watch a serie. If i dislike one of the main character, then i will watch the first few episode to see wether it has a good story line or not. If it turns out to be bad then i will stop watching
Like the upcoming serie Land of Wealth-> I dont like sonija kwok ,, so i will try a few episode. .

 

Well i always watch TVB series with actresses i like. As for the ones with actors/actresses which are just alright, then i will watch it lata

 

not really but if the tvb drama has a particular actor/actress i like, ill more likely watch it

 

Yeh i do lol...and when im bored and have time to kill..i'll watch the ones with my least favourite actors/actresses..

 

Surely everyone has some kind of judgment before watching a movie!

Regarding PotC... my gut feeling told me that this sequel was going to be crap because most sequels are.

From what I saw in the trailers, the film shouts out "Look at me, I'm Johnny Depp, there is no plotline, but I am cool!" so that was why I was kind of doubting its quality. Had the movie not been promoted by Johnny Depp running around going "I'm cool, watch this movie just for me!", I wouldn't have been as judgmental.

I did end up eating my words though, isn't that enough to satisfy you?

 

i usually watch the series with the people i know.. but i always watch like one episode of each series to see if it's any good.

 

yup..i choose to watch actresses and actors i like..but it also depends on the storyline too..if it got my favorite actor and actress in a boring storyline series..i tend to screw it..lol..im a picky person..=)

 

well for me when i was younger i didnt know about the actors and actresses stuff so i just watch any series..but now i look how in it first and i watch it but sometime when there nothing to watch i just rent it to see if it good or not..

 

i only watch the series with my idols in it or unless the plot is really really good then i will give it a go...otherwise i wouldn't bother.

 

i watch tvb series only if there's sum1 i like or if it's funny

 

i do choose actors or actresses when im watching a series but i alot read what the plot of the series is too, cus there are some series where i love the actor or actress but the story isn't that good..ie. blade heart....then i don't watch the series...i usually don't miss the anniversary series...i'll usually watch it reguardless of who's in it
