As a good deal on RFD, I got 2 keys of Windows 8 for 36$. I still have one left for my cousin lol. At first try, it's really annoying. For example, when i watched a clip, it always full zoom. I don't know how to make it smaller. I also don't know how to take a photo screen like on Win 7. Without the start button, I feel somehow strange, but then i familiar with it...I tried to bring the button back but there is no ways :( . Everything is ok. It's look nice.

ps: I don't like when they connect with your hotmail when they starts...it kind of annoying...and weird bc if someone borrow ur comp a little bit, they may take a look at ramdom stuff lol

It seems different than 7, but i think i will get it.

Is there any trial before fully upgrading?

The trial period is already end :p...However, if u have a genuine windows 7, u can get an upgrade from Microsoft, which will cost u about 15$ on 26/10/2012

Haha, after all, I feel good about windows 8 now :p, everything is fine now. However, you need to know that now Java not really works well with W8 :D

I was able to download the 90-day Enterprise Trial version.

But.. cannot upgrade from Windows 7 Ultimate to that. Must reinstall cleanly. Not sure if i would want to do that.

Woa, that's great but what would you do after 90 days :? Do they force you to buy it, or can you come back to windows 7?
I heard that they will allow you to upgrade on 26/10, when they officially announce W8 :D

btw, idk how come...in my country, they sell W8 genuine keys for only 2 usd lolz =))

Waiting for the problems first which will def. come in the first couple of weeks. After MS brings the fixes I might have a look at it. At the moment OSX Mountain Lion is King ;)

actually, w8 is not really a big jump from w7 :p but still they got great support from Microsoft.
u right, if u need a windows to work, then it's better to wait for a while. Bc for sure, you don't want to get in any trouble from incompatible software =)). I never try OS from Apple so Idk about that hihi. For me, I think w7 is very good now :D simple, fast and nice

Ultimate 7 (7 Pro) cant be upgraded to Windows 8 Enterprise. That's why i couldn't upgrade on the free trial 90 days one.

    Was your 8 Pro free?

Dreamspark (onthehub for my school) keys usually last forever from what I know or I guess it depends on the Uni. My is guarantee to last for at least 2 years though. Had Windows 7 before it was released and still using the same key from MSDNAA

mayb, it bc of your school account. But if you follow the ways like on RFD, it will last forever
Yes it does last forever. However, you have to make sure that you saved the setup files and the keys because they will delete on the website.

I think apart from the fundamental change in the start screen on Windows 8, there isn't so much of a change. It is probably better in terms of safety and boot up times but it seems quite similar and the metro screen annoys me too much for the upgrade unless you change it back to the original setup. I think it is a clever idea by Microsoft but it is a little unintuitive. For example, the fact you have to press so many buttons to turn off the computer is annoying and the fact that it logs in to your email and social networks on the metro screen is basically a security flaw if you leave you laptop open for others to use.
