I know people who look incredibly photogenic in photos, but are only average looking in person, and vice versa. I also know people who insist that the camera adds 10lbs and distorts images. Do you think cameras accurately depict how you really look?
hmm..no,i look the same in all pictures...except one.in fact,it didn't depict how i look but it was a different me,and i like it
Cameras do distort images. I know this because I used to help my aunt take pictures of her jewelry to sell on ebay and we could never get the stones to look as nice in the pictures as they did in actuality. The camera lens usually flattens things out and didn't capture the exact color, depth, or luster. Photos ARE only 2-dimensional after all. This is why there are professional photographers. They use lighting and lenses to make subjects appear in pictures as they do IRL... sometimes better.
i would say, i look bad in pictures -.- haha i believe pictures makes me look worse significantly then in reality -detect
yeah like i look good in some photos and weird in others (MOST), i think its all about the lighting lol
I don't know... I think I look about the same but according to some people I look different in all my pics.. -_- but other people have told me I look better in person. I don't know haha
and i thought i was the only one that looked terrible in pictures -lol i get more compliments in real life -tongue2
sometimes, i do, sometimes i don't. as casshern said, it depends on the lighting and angle. as a photographer, the reason people seem to look wider/fatter in photos is because of the lighting. Your features aren't defined that well because details on your face and body gets lost in the lens. that's why when you see professional photographers, their flashes don't flash directly at the subject. We always bounce our flash off surfaces so that light gets dispersed. This is also another reason to not use flash when taking photos. It make pictures look FLAT. Use natural lighting if you can.
I do believe the camera adds 10 lbs. When I see myself in the mirror, I actually see an attractive, average weight girl. But when I look at my photos, I'm utterly plain unattractive and somewhat...pudgy. And for some reason, my eyes look smaller in photos and I usually have a nice complexion, but in pics, I either turn out really pale (no color in the cheeks) or kinda red all over. It's not life-like at all. That's why I try to avoid the camera like the plague. -sweat
