You can try that add-on in firefox i forgot what its called.....

I usually jsut use real player latest version and it'll just have a tab over the video saying to download or not

Yeah, I tried that (Down Them All, Download helper) but all those things do are download the HTM pages but never the video itself... :tear:

ADDENDUM: Never mind; I was able to find the exact same video on the Smithsonian Channel in Youtube, and it seems that Video Cache View works with those. More than one way to skin a cat I suppose, LOL...

  4. Hmm wonder why it didn't work.. The video should be cached regardless of any flash player used... Anyway, glad you found an alternate solution.

Yes, I agree that the video is probably cached somehow, but I think it's going into some other hidden place and not where the browser thinks it is. At any rate, I notice that a lot of sites nowadays seem to have some sort of coding that prevents the cache from either showing their item or else preventing you from saving it. I can certainly understand why; with the full episode high res (1080p headbang2 ) Smithsonian Channel videos, it cuts directly into their DVD sales.

  6. Haha yea. I'm sure someone's going to try and figure it out. Who wouldn't want Smithsonian videos at 1080p for free lol

Unfortunately, they don't put all their videos for free high res free view, only a limited selection. Still, the ones that are there are awesome and definitely worth keeping.
