Our 3rd server is ready! In the process of PMing all members on the waiting list! Please be patient! This has been a great success and we've already reached maximum capacity for our servers! To ensure that download speeds stay reliable we are closing donations until we get our 3rd server. The only reason we are able to cover 3 servers a month is because of all the donations (you guys/gals are awesome!). When we get our 3rd server we will have faster speeds and even more space to store dramas/movies, we will probably be able to permanently store HD 720p dramas as well. As a thank you to members who have already donated, we've extended everyone's subscription an extra 7 days. Just a suggestion: Would it lessen the load on the server if PA only upload HDz, 720p, AVI files for each episode - rather than uploading a myriad of the same episodes from different sources?
That was actually something I was thinking about in terms of HDD space. We will probably delete FK, CKY versions from the server after a month a drama is completed and keep HDz/TVBN (I'm still on the fence with which version is better), AVI, 720p versions. With server load, it is actually determined by how many members are downloading from the server at the same time.
I find that the HDz and TVBN files have about the same quality but the file size of HDz is a bit smaller so I would keep the HDz file
Ha ha... I love it. A donation drive so successful that the host stops taking money, LOL... Gotta be a record there somewhere. Keep up the good work As for the choice of files, that "little bit smaller" file comes off of the audio bitrate and it shows. I hate the HDz files as their sound quality always seems a bit off (tinny and scratchy). I'd much prefer the TVBN files.
Something which the greedy TVPad people could learn from They sold so many devices that now the service is crap since they can't handle the load.
HDz is consistant with their sizes.. around 200. TVBN is about 200-250. CKY ranges from 180-220. Keep HDz for sure.. but i would put CKY toos for its small sizes. Anyways, this is a huge success. Was wondering if VIP get any discount or student prices?
Assuming that Mods/VIPs download at a normal rate, I can give free access to 3-4 people but if free access is given to all mods and discounts are given to VIPs. I wouldn't be able to sustain the costs for the servers and performance would suffer.
Hmmm... Then how about giving free access to guys with the first initial "R" and last name of Repo? Works for me, LOL...
