Don't get in a flap, it's just a cat with furry wings http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERW4TGehKRo By Mail Foreign Service Last updated at 6:37 PM on 27th May 2009 Someone should tell the birds to look out - now cats are growing wings. At least, this cat in the Chinese city of Chongqing in China appears to be. Animal experts have been left baffled by the fluffy white moggy, who was born normal - but began growing wing-shaped appendages on either side of his spine when he was just a year old. Give me wings: The cat displays his wing-span as he munches on kibble in Chongqing, China There are some who think the mutation may be genetic Some experts believe the bony 'wings' are in fact a freak mutation - a Siamese twin growing inside the kitty. Others think the mutation may be genetic, caused by chemicals during his mother's pregnancy. Whatever the answer is, the cat does not seem to mind - with his owners even claiming he enjoys all the attention. The kitty seems quite content with his 'wings' - which also resemble giant ears Neighbourhood attraction: The cat looks as though he is ignoring his curious neighbours - but his owners say he likes the attention
So many news on pets ... perhaps we need a new sub forum called pets. A forum where members can post news about animals or their own pets ...
so cutee!!! especially the last pic. anyway back to what i wanted to say: this is some bad-ass mutation, if it were a mutation. I would say, get an x-ray through this cat, and see if its actually bones, or if there's something more to it. Maybe its some extending ribs... or shoulder blades.... Either way, it obviously wont be able to fly, the bone density is way too high.
wow... mutations are interesting.... i wonder if these types of cats mated if these wings will stay...
