i am planning to go to hong kong next year to let my eyelids done. now i have single eyelid, but i want them to be double i think double eyelids are much prettier. Don't get me wrong i think i look okay.. but i think this surgery will make me look better, heehee. does someone have experience with the double eyelid surgery? can you share your experience with me?? i'm still searching for information about doctors etc etc etc.. so if you know a good one, let me know
well I never had the double eyelid surgery before.... ...but i just want to tell you that you are so brave.... and aren't you scared of the side-effects..... well i want to recommend you not to do the surgery if you say you that you are already pretty without....I just think that it won't be worth it in the end... hope that i am not scaring you...
of course i'm affraid of the side effects! soo.. that's why i want to hear experiences.. maybe one of you have negative experiences
sorry I can't help you on double eyelid but want to wish you the best with your surgery and hope you are happy with the results. By the way, just curious, why hong kong? Did some one recommended you there ? Who is the doctor?
^they are probably more experienced with that kind of surgery in HK Well cant say i have any experience or even know anyone that does How much does it cost?? heres some info from the amazing Wikipedia haha: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_blepharoplasty
because they are more experienced with the single eyelid. the western doctors don't have much experience with the single eyelid, because all the western ppl have double eyelid well the costs depends on the method you want.. Stitch method: HKD9800 Partial incision : HKD12800 Full incision : HKD15800 that's from a clinic i've enquired from.. but every clinic has different prices. my friends says if your getting it done in shenzhen (china) it's 10 times cheaper.. but i don't trust it over there, you always here negative stories about the hygiene in china.
^Full incision.... i guess youll have swollen eyes for a few weeks -sick2 15000HKD is about 1000GBP so not a bank killer -lol lol i would never go shenzen to get it done, no matter how cheap !
they say the swollen eyes will dissapear in one weak.. but i've read some cases that ppl have swollen eyes for 3 months. but the stitch method sounds really weird to me.. so you will have permanent thread in your eyelids-dead.. and doesn't sound too hygienic to me either -sweat
i've heard of a tape that can make u have double eyelid and its pretty cool why don tu try with that first?
i have the tape, it works, but ít's inconvenient to put on make up. and i've also have a double eyelid glue, heehee, they really invent funny stuff. the glue also works, but it's always a mess with the glue. and it doesn't stay long.. if you use the tape or glue on long term they will stretch out the skin of your eyelid.. that will make the single eyelid even look more droopy'er
its probably to try and crease the skin or something, so after a x amount of time when they remove the stitches the skin is use to the crease and so makes it?? but as im no surgeon or eyelid specialist thats pure speculation -sweat so your going for the full incision eh? ooo hate to think that the scalpel is so close to my eye balls -lol
when they use the stitch method, they won't remove the stitch.. it will stay in your eyelids forever! that's what i've read.. correct me if i'm wrong! heehee well.. first i thought of the full incison method.. but the stitch method will not leave any scars.. so that sounds more attractive to me. but the stitch method is not suitable for every eyelid.. depends on the thickness of your skin and if you have too much fat beneath the eyellids you also can't use the sttich method. and also when you use the stitch method there's a chance that the crease will not last forever.. and will dissapear after some months.. well then you have to pay again for another surgery :S i'm still not sure which method i want to use.. i still have another 6 months to think about it, heehee
i don't know about side effects. never heard there wld be any. but one of my ex is Vietnamese and she had that done coz she wants to look ... cuter and Chinese. don't ask me what happened to her. she's a ex and i no longer kept in touch with her. but i think she got it done in US ... swollen eyes for a few weeks.
Have you thought about the complications that might arise later? Eye infections for example. If you are getting it done in HK, be sure to make arrangements so that it is possible for you to return to the surgeon in any case of complication...? From what I have heard, although it's rare, the surgery might make you look worse than before, especially if you are unlucky enough to have some infection or uneven lids after the surgery. US has some pretty good surgeons for it too, but shd be more expensive.
I'm planning to stay for couple of months.. i think it shouldn't be a problem. enough time for healing. but of course the complications.. i live in the netherlands.. soo US is not an option for me.. because i don't have relatives/friends there.
^Oh then it should be ok. The only thing you need is find a good/right surgeon. A good surgeon would analyse your eyes totally first and make sure you are satisfied with the type of lids that he propose to you. You can also ask for before n after pictures of his works to see if he indeed done a good job.
thanks for your advice! but the big question is.. where to find a good surgeon heehee. on internet it's hard to find information.. don't know if the info is reliable..
rainsy, I heard korean surgeon are good at double eyelid too. you might want to take a look at this site. Their eyes looks beautiful/attractive and natural. http://www.bkclinic.com/english/
last i saw a hk documentary it was about double eyelid surgery. many hk ppl go to korea for double eyelid surgery, because there they are very good at it. some korean clinics even hire staff who can speak cantonese especially for those hk visitors. i wouldn't consider going to a country where i don't speak the language heehee, it would make me feel insecure. but i looked after the pictures.. the eyes are very beautifull after the surgery (but of course they put the best pictures on the web), much better than those HK sites...
Yes that's a bit tough, because the internet's info could be tricky... a website of the surgeon could look good, but the work of the surgeon may be... The best is try to join those forums with beauty sections specifically for this, and get the feedback from members just like what u r doing here. The risk is still there, but lower. Then u can make ur decision from the recommendation given by the members there. Also, if u can, make a list of 3 surgeons or so, then visit each of them to decide.
