Okay definitely stripped down compared to the first and combat feels too streamlined (like mass effect 2). Saw skill tree and there seems to be no specializations, if they are completely removed from the game I would probably buy it when it drops to 20 bucks seriously, no summons in a DA game? GTFO. Obviously no origin stories which was already a bummer. What i wonder is can you still do combo attacks with magic etc. Also my whole party got slaughtered by Ogre and I used my warrior to attack, it looked extremely dull with only one striking animation which is pretty lame. I enjoyed the demo for what it is but there was a confusing story jump which they should not have done, if that is in the retail version the story officially sucks. Dunno about this too much like Mass Effect and the system seems to be oversimplified from DA1. Hopefully this doesn't turn into something half assed but still with potential like Jade Empire. Another comment is that the PS3 version lags like crazy, I don't even remember DA1 lagging that much. And so far the art is really worst than DA1 even though the graphics are smoother they are still pretty bad especially since they streamlined the experience. Final comment is soo not used to the voice and the conversation options better not be limited, i can't even start side conversations at anytime like DA1.
wow, hopefully, the full version is not gonna be like that. If it is, i'll be greatly disappointed. However, i'll still keep my hopes high.
lol weak game was easy man too simplified though. all u have to do is learn heal and use health potions. assuming u talking about the ogre use miasmic flask and the shield stun, protect your mage then bam! btw making backstab an ability instead of auto stabs against stun is gay and cooldown for health potion straight outta mass effect 2 kills immersion.
damn playing a mage makes this shit a cakewalk, my main character never even fell and only one party member fell the whole time. its friggin ridiculous to get crushing prison so early lol. combine that with the mindblash/warcry ability then you get crowd control plus you can effectively target the boss with the crushing prison/ice ability. Anyways still stripped down but i guess it makes more sense to just put elemental weapon instead of fire/ice weapon since i just use one but really streamlined since in da1 there are resistance to one or the another and theres a strategy involved there.
DA1 was deep... a little too deep for me. I finished the first 2 main quests and then got to the dwarvish one and was like "fuck this, i'm bored". It wasn't a bad game.. it just wasn't interesting enough to hold my attention for the 70 hours of gameplay. I wasn't committed enough to any of the characters besides the protagonist. As good as DA1 was, I felt it was trying to do too many things and turned out mediocre as a result. I love Bioware almost to a fault... ME2 was so good I had actual withdrawal symptoms and some measurable depression once I beat it. DA1 had none of that. it sounds like DA2 has stripped alot of the intricate stuff and fucked itself over in the process. The graphics also look like complete shit. I don't know what Bioware was thinking on this one... it seems completely unpolished and the engine is outdated. luckily there's hope in this genre and it has a name: The Witcher 2 (these are in-game shots) as compared to Dragon Age 2 : I'll be pirating DA2 and I don't really expect to finish the game anyway. I'll be buying the $134 collectors edition of The Witcher 2 and spending another $400 on a Nvidia GTX570 to run it at full frames. That's how pumped I am for this shit.
too bad i cant run that shit never even tried one... mass effect 2 i beat twice but reflecting on it i still liked da more lol. ME2 was way too streamlined it almost can't be called an rpg. i like how in a world of streamlined rpgs there is still one with soo many damn options. DA2 totally ignored their fanbase and streamlined it to attract the more casual fans which is bullshit. I don't really care about the graphics as much as i cared about the options and gameplay . I mean i had to sell that shit to stop playing and then i bought it again to play the expansion and the dlc...i was basically living and breathing DA there was really no end to that game in that you will see something different every time you play no matter how many times you play. Can't see the same thing happening for DA2 as there are more scripted scenarios and only one class. I beat the demo like four times and tried out most of the combination, its alright but probably won't get me to play it again and again. Anyways I will rank the easiest time i had with the demo vs. the hardest. Mage>Rogue-Archer>Rogue>Two Handed Warrior And ecko wtf shit didn't come out yet dawg.
^ I think he meant the witcher 1. You should consider playing it. the graphics requirements aren't that high, but it is a little poorly optimized. Make sure you play the enhanced edition though. And do your best to get past the first 2 hours. It starts rather slow and the controls are a little unusual, but once you get into it you will probably REALLY get into it. (all the reviews I read say collecting the "sex cards" is tacky, but I found it amusing as hell) I always play a warrior the first time around in RPG's... I might consider trying the mage initially for DA2 for the first time. I'm kind of a lazy player and its simpler to just point and click and hack and slash instead of doing spells. Also, mages get such shitty looking armour lol... I hate the fact that 90% of the headgear for mages are shaped like a cone and that you have to run around the game in various bathrobes.
I had that shit on very high for da demo and that shit was laggy as hell. I put it on high n the graphics still look trash. Either demos not that optimized or the graphics is that bad. I play thu RPGs for the story, so really I don't want that shit to be too difficult with like every little thing I have to manage.
mmm it really sounds like Bioware dropped the ball this time around... but I guess I'll find out for myself come march.
dam, i couldnt transfer my DA origin save files to DA2. But wateva, i dont think my equiments/inventory is gonna be transfer in anyways.........
One nice thing to note that if you have a DX11 GPU and 1 GB of VRAM you can download the high resolution texture pack from Bioware's site and turn up the graphics. Might improve things a little bit on the visual front for this game... but tbh i'm more worried about the story and gameplay
I thought it was just the demo, but I turned up the graphics to very high and it's still laggy as hell. What are the very high reqs for this game? :\ EDIT: Turns out the fault is with Nvidia's drivers. ATI cards supposedly have the same problem as well. Won't be able to touch very high on Directx 11 till Nividia releases some updated drivers. Guess I'll stick with directx 10 for now.
The demo didn't have DX11 at all. That's why anyone trying to run it with DX11 got their asses kicked no matter what GPU They were using. I thought it was going to be resolved in the actual release, but I guess not.
Dam, blood magic is friggin good...........but, it uses alot of magic. wow, DA II is full of repetitive looking locations and seems to be lazily made. This game definitely doesnt worth the money....lucky me.........
I remember this one time he disapproved when I said some shit about a crazy ass mage. And then there's Fenris, he's basically the opposite of Anders. Even more freakin annoying Next playthrough I'm gonna kill Fenris if I can. Hate him as much as I hated sten.
btw dun spoil for me nigga i dun have the game yet!!!! all i know is anders is an apostate and he is posessed by the spirit of justice (spoiled there) from da awakening.
