GTV idol drama ‘Paper Rose’ who initially set Jerry Yan & Ariel Lin as the leads has had a dramatic turn in the cast. Under GTV’s warm invitation, Rachel Liang will donate her drama debut, and is rumoured on getting a high 100,000NT per episode. The two sides now just need to sign a official contract, and next week when, Director Lin He Long returns to Taiwan, filming can commence. ‘Paper Rose’ has had many twists and turns in the pre-filming process. Initially, there was the chance of Jerry Yan & Ariel Lin collaborating for their first big drama. Ariel really loved the female singer character in the drama, and was even willing on cutting her long hair, which she had slowly grown since she was little. However, because the script had to be amended over and over again, it was delayed for one whole year, and the actors’ schedules were all messed up. However, earlier because Ariel declined ‘Extravagant Challenge’, her schedule suddenly opened up, but the ‘Paper Rose’ crew were already finalising details with Rachel. GTV insider expressed that GTV will still keep Ariel’s name in the ‘Extravagant Challenge’ cast list, and plus due to her health problems, should let her rest. GTV expressed that not only is Rachel’s appearance sweet, inviting her to play the role of a female singer in ‘Paper Rose’, her beautiful voice has the chance to exert; she is really the perfect candidate. As for the male leads, they have invited Tender Huang & Denny Huang; the combination is very fresh. However, ‘Paper Rose’ tells of the female lead loving a guy so deeply that during a period of lovelorn, she is unable to control herself and cuts off her beautiful long hair. Rachel’s management company is planning on changing Rachel’s image, but currently they are still working with the drama crew to decide how short her hair will be.
