How many hour of video can we burn in a DVD?? Is it just 2 hour?? But some other DVD movie that i bought is more than 2 hour so how does i burn like that??? How to create such DVD video with so many hour of movie?
The amount of playtime on a disc depends on how much you compress the data. Many new movies are coming out in dual layer formats which are over 8gigs of data! My backup ultility allows me to rip and compress those movies into 4.7gigs to fit on a DVD-R perfectly. The more you compress, the longer the playtime, but the quality gets worse as you compress more aggressively.
But why i can just burn 3 animation into 1 DVD onli??? The animation file is just 250MB its should be fit around 15-18 anime into 1 DVD right?? I really confused bcoz it's my first time burning a DVD. Hope someone can explain to me. Thanx...
The size of the animation does not mean that is actually what is put onto the disc because it's not really measured by size, but more by length (of file) and quality. Generally, the animation is transcoded and changed so that it wil fit on to a DVD and then play on to your DVD player. The higher the quality, the more space it will take, and then the less you'll be able to put onto the disc. It's like a Music-CD. A CD can hold around 700MB right? And a typical album, with 13-15 songs at high quality 192kbps is around 80MB on your computer. But once you burn, you'll realize that the disc will fill up because it's burned as a Music_CD format that will allow you to play it onto normal Cd players and stuff. So does that mean your disc actually filled up to 700MB with 13 songs - no... You said that you can only fit 3 animations? That does make ense, considering that's about an hour's worth of video. Try changing your settings to either Extended Play or Super Long Play so that you can fit more episodes on the disc - that's if you're willing to comprimise quality. And maybe save a bit more space by not having menus, but just chapters that will let you jump from episode to episode... Hope that helps, I'm not an expert .... Just giving advice based on my own experiences with DVD burning ... >.< -sweat By the way, what software are you using??? I recommend NERO 6 Ultra Edition that has everything, including DVD_authoring...(and any new versions after that)
Oh ok. Thanx. I got another question. Hope u can help me with it. I got some problem with my WinAVI can someone help me. I try to convert RMVB file to AVI but it keep on pop out stated that "unable to locate source file". Wat does this mean n how i solve it?? Or do u have anyother software that can convert RMVB to AVI?? Thanx....
Hmm... Is the file named in Chinese (or other non ASCII text, Japanese, Korean..)?? That's the stupid thing with WinAVI and many other software (like Nero)... They can't read Chinese, and so it thinks it doesn't exist. Here's how to solve: Simply rename your file to random letters (for temperory), and after you converted it, you can rename it back to its original Chinese name. It's annoying.. I have to do it all the time too!! Stupid software not made for us asians! >.< Hope that was the problem. If not, I can try helping you out again
Oh no. Still got problem after renaming the file. This time it stated "fail initializing the file". So wat is the problem pls help. Thanx
Is there a big different between quality of the Extented Play n Super Long play? Which 1 should i burn??? Pls help me.... i dun wan to waste my DVD-R. Thanx
depends rly, if u want, try it out with a DVD +/- RW first and c what its like then then burn it onto the write once disks, this is a longer way of doing it but safest, this way u wont waste ur DVD-R i think only some disks support the Super Long Play as i got sum that specifically says this is supported but with others others im not
I got another question. Extented Play they say can burn up to 240 minutes of video. But why i just can burn around 130 minutes of video onli?? Is it depend on the file also??? Its so differrent from the music cd where u actually can burn up to the max of 80 minutes of songs. I really dun understand it. Can someone explain. Thanx in advance.......
hmmm ..... i think there's nuthing to do with the file its either the disk ur using, program to burn or the DVD burning rom as with DVD recorders used on the TV they can be easily switched to SLP or LP on most DVD disks, as my friends got 1 i think .... correct me if im wrong ppl -sweat
It depends on how the video is being compressed. The SP and LP modes on those DVD records are just switching between different compression modes. So when you compress a video, make it compress tighter and you'll get more playtime out of it.
