Here is a link to their website : http://www.emachines.com/products/catalog.html?type=desktops

Do you think E-Machine's are good?

My dad rather buys E-Machine computers rather than Dell, because Dell is kind of expensive. The one i really wanted from Dell is the "Inspiron 545". It's like $799+tax. The one i want from E-Machine is "ET1331G-05w".. $398+tax, but no monitar. A monitar is like.. $130+tax around there.. and no matter what it's a BIT cheaper than Dell.

But i want to know if anyone owns an E-Machine, or know anything about it like performance is slow.. or w/e.

    :D

i never liked them, they are crappy machines, thats why they are cheap, they were purchased by Gateway a whole ago and now Acer bought Gateway...

Really? but the stats are pretty.. decent, meets my requirements. :O

I want like a computer with similar specs to the e-machine and with cheap prices! :(. Dell is pretty expensive.. i've been looking for a new cpu for a year and i thought E-Machines were pretty good b/c of the stats.

Any suggestions for good, cheap desktops??

i have always done upgrade or build them myself, my purchase of a computer is back in 1993 (when my dad bought the compaq pentium 133 computer/monitor + HP printer) combo for $3k back then

My dad said it'll be hard to upgrade the graphic and video card for my cpu. And i know i could upgrade my ram though. But graphic + video card is like.. iunno.. i'm guessing 400$ in total with tax?

Anyway, what IS so bad about e-machines? Are they slow? Like you said it was crappy, what part of it was crappy? -huh
